Fluidity: Messages from Loki and Dionysus

This morning I woke up from a dream where I was eating the most delicious salmon that I've ever had in my life.  Of course I looked it up because....huh?  I love me some fish, but that's all I was doing, just indulging in some salmon. According to Dream Moods , it may mean, " To dream that you are eating fish symbolizes your beliefs, spirituality, luck, energy and nourishment. It is food for the soul ".  Since it was specifically Salmon , it could also mean, " To see a salmon in your dream represents determination, strength, and wisdom. You are able to overcome adversity and achieve success. Alternatively, a salmon suggests that you are comfortable with expressing and dealing with your emotions. You are well balanced ". Hm. And this powerful positive message after a powerful omen from Loki and Dionysus last night.  A message given to the Druids of Virtual Fire, but also one that extends beyond that group.   Yesterday before the ritual, I was compelled...

Calming Teachings from Chaotic Beings

I meant to share this earlier this week--this is the omen from Tuesday's ritual--a message that's not just for the attendees, but for anyone who needs it.  Not a big scary serious omen.  The ritual was about new beginnings, as this is a time that many are starting new school year, and others may have new projects--such as one druid's new youtube channel. The deities who showed up were surprising at first.  Loki,  Rán, and   Ægir .  Loki, I know, but Ran and Aegir, I don't know too well, never worked with Them before.  I know of Their domains and some stories--both are Ocean Jotuns, married, who have Nine Wave Daughters (who may or may not be Heimdall's mothers) .  I don't know much about Her husband other than His Hall, but I know Ran is associated with drowning, and collects victims in Her net.  I have met Her once before this ritual. It took me a few moments to connect to the two of Them because I don't already have an existing relat...

Galdr and Modern Medicine

The night before we left for our out-of-state trip, my eldest comes to us with a friend.  The friend was there to make sure my son told us about an infection on his leg.  An infection he didn't tell us about because he was trying to take care of it himself...with soap and bandaids.  He said it was a bug bite.  He and I are both really allergic to flea and mosquito bites--they turn into blisters and blister clusters.  That's what I saw on his leg.  Big nasty blister clusters.  I told him to wash it with dawn dish soap, and then we treated it with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and neosporin, and bandaged it up.  I gave him an ibuprofen and had him elevate and ice his leg for that swelling.   He was embarrassed, and I told him not to be.  I taught him the appropriate steps to take, and I made a note that included these steps for the kids and put it in our First Aid cabinet, as well as in big letters TELL MOM AND DAD, DON'T HANDLE A...

A Word from Forseti

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by another Norse Justice God, Forseti.  He is the son of Baldur and Nanna.  Where Tyr is a Warrior Justice God, Forseti is a Peaceful Justice God. Just before last night's weekly Virtual Fire Proto-Grove ritual, Forseti wanted me to volunteer for the Omen.  When we brainstormed about the focus of the ritual, He said to hang back and see what they come up with.  Since one person was physically moving and another was metamorphically moving, we decided on Opening Doors focus.  One Druid chose Apollo for Inspiration and Prophecy, another chose Mac Lir as the Gatekeeper and the other chose Janus as the being of the occasion.   Liminal threshold deities. Then Forseti came through, saying that opening of doors is fitting for peaceful reconciliation, as opposed to the force of Tyr kicking open a door armed with a sword. Forseti came with messages and blessings.   The first thing that He said over and over ...

First Fire

First, a belated Blessed World Bee Day and...oh shoot, I can't remember...Mother's Day was one...I think there was another.  Hm.  Well, belated happy days. Wednesday was my kid's last day of school, but it was also very wet.  Last night we had our First Fire and Last Day of the School Year Celebration. I had planned on etching symbols into the metal of the fire pit, but I couldn't find my etching tool.  I think I packed it away with my Valkyrie Shrine.  Instead I went to my magikal cabinet for dried flowers and herbs.  I selected based on energies: Peace Joy Love Healing Protection Psychic Strength Good Abundance Good Health All into my orange coconut bowl.  With my fingers, I stirred and mixed the flowers and herbs together, repeating my intention for the mixture... Offering to the Hearth Kindreds and Spirits To dedicate the Fire Pit To anoint our Family, Home, Vehicle, and lot Tracing with my finger into the mixture, I galdred the runes as the...

Blessed Dark Moon

Here's a Community Reading for yall, through the Moonology deck: Sister Moon, what's your message for the community on this Dark Moon? "Eat fruit" "Eat well" The card I've pulled is: New Moon in Gemini - Communication is key. Funny enough as I locked in and shuffled, I kept seeing Facebook--just a general page.  No one in particular.  I guess this could also represent social media in general. "Ground yourself before communicating.  Also write a letter or a journal entry before messaging that person.  Don't just listen to respond, actually listen to learn.  Don't just spit out words like an angry parrot; think about your words, your tone, whether or not you make sense.   Socialize, but do so politely.  Remember your manners.  If the other person is rude...simple walk or scroll away."  Sister Moon, do you have anything else?   "No."   Thank you, Sister Moon. --------- Now for my personal message from the Kindred. "Don'...

Beauties

I was just reading The Ripening by Serena of Runes and Roses , and had a realization. In their post, Serena said that Freyja loves beauty and jewelry. Like most things in life, Beauty is highly subjective. Normally when one thinks of beauty, depending on their culture/society/family/individuality they may think of symmetrical faces, cosmetics, expensive clothing, thin bodies, feminine clothing, etc. But beauty is subjective. I think of those things, too, but also other things, like minute details that others may not notice, certain colors, a sprouting plant, a decaying animal, a loving birth, the dying cared for by loved ones, "tribal" style, bohemian style, gritty witchcraft, goth, aesthetic witchcraft, lace, and many other things. Youngest's Little Plant, May 1, 2026 Actions, too. Beauty isn't just the physical. Kindness, compassion, and bravery are beautiful to me. The pure joy on people's faces. My children's laughter, as cliche as that is. Com...

Blessed Midspring/fall and Full Moon! Rabbit Rabbit!

April 26 : With a huge push from Hekate, I got a firepit.  I've been wanting one for years.  It's not a fancy one, just a $50 one, just to see if we like it.  If we do, then we'll budget for a better one.  Before our first burn, I'm going to dedicate it to my Hearth Kindreds, whom are: Hestia Vesta Vestals Hekate Brigid Frigg Freyja Loki Baba Yaga Tomten Nisser Agathos Daimon The Disir Unnamed House Spirits As well as my fire starting and tending tools.  I think I may bless some oil and lightly anoint the bowl of the pit.  Once the wood is burning, then pour some as offering. I was also thinking about carving some sigils into the metal.  I took an intaglio print making class back in college, so I have a a super sharp tool that easily scratches into metals.  The bowl of the firepit is nice, but gives off strong water scrying vibes, too.  No doubt I'll be using it for multiple things, from magik to scrying to cooking.  I have a little gril...

Some Quick Storm Protection Magic

On Tuesday night we had a strong violent storm blow through.  Hard heavy rain that might have been hail--I couldn't tell because it was too dark.  Normally, when I'm aware of severe storms heading towards us, I petition the Storm and Home Kindreds for protection.  But on Tuesday, I was focused on photo albums.  It wasn't until the hard rain and loud thunder hit that I realized what kind of storm we were dealing with.   I gave offerings and then I faced the strong storm slamming our trailer.  I quickly grounded and centered myself and locked in.  Hands up, I felt the shield around our home, and I also tapped into the storms energy.   I galdred the runes of Thurisaz, Othala, and Algiz.  Thor, Home, Protection.   Then I said, " Kindreds and Spirits with our best interests at heart, I ask for protection over my family, our guest, our pets, and our home from this storm.  As it is asked, as it is willed. So shall it b...

A Mallet for Thor

I've been gradually collecting camping equipment, and I finally have all of the basics: Tent Pegs Guy Lines Mallet Cot Sleeping bag LED Lanterns Compass Water Bottle Flint Fire Starter (and some tender to practice fire making/tending) Kooler Small First Aid Kit Next I'll start focusing on a backpack and cookery.  Not propane--I know there's more control with propane, but I want to learn how to 1) start a fire and 2) cook on an open fire. I also want a hand saw, a hatchet, and a nice pocket knife, too, for wood and general use.  Later, cold weather gear. Camping for fun and for spirituality.  I'm at the point of my Seiðr practise that Freyja and my guides want me to go camping and perform utisetis.   Also learning how to make, tend, and cook with fire are devotional actions for my Hearth Kindreds, and those wild ones who want me to be out in nature more often. Which brings us back to the basic gear--the peg mallet.  It's basic, not fancy at a...

Taking Energy Balls to the Next Level

Back in 2018-ish, I was apart of a circle of witches called the Sisters of the Moon Circle.  Local and in-person.  We met monthly for classes, rituals, and friendship.  During a Fall Equinox ritual honoring Dionysus and Arachne, I taught my sisters how to make protection wards using popsicle sticks and white yarn.  The sticks were the frames and the yarn represented spider's web.   The ritual was inspired by a poem where Arachne's spiders protected Dionysus's grapes from pests.  So I taught them how to make dreamcatcher-like protection wards.  At the time, we raised energy through movement to charge our spider web wards.  To only let in/out the good and the needed, and for the webbing to capture the bad and unnecessary--from us and from others.  We asked Arachne to bless our wards with spiders to consume the nasty energy, and to cleanse the webs when needed.   I've kept mine through the years.  I use my web ward for ...

Show Me Your Witch!

For tonight's Virtual Fire Proto-Grove ADF ritual, we focused on Hearth, Winter, and Health. Tonight I performed the Omen and Hulda-Holle, Cailleach, a touch of Loki, and  Óðinn showed up. Eir was also present, but She didn't speak .  They used the European Goddess and Spirits Oracle by Johanna Polle and the Elder Futhark runes. As we got into the ritual, I shuffled.  Jumper card from Frau Hulda-Mother Holle:  Arianrod - balance, mind your own needs and wants, balance doesn't need to be meticulous, but what feels good. Cailleach with Her deer in the forefront, Elen of the Ways in the background, Lantern in hand. The rune Hagalaz was the hand built shelter of sticks, twine, and fur.  A roaring Kenaz campfire.  Little Isaz pounding down.  But you are safe and warm and happy.  Rested. Loki: "HI, lol" (Hagalaz +Isa) Cailleach:  "Remember who and what you are.  Show me the Völva within–Witch, Energy Worker, Practitioner, Mystic, whatever ...

Divine Message with a Feline Distraction

Last night, I performed the omen for Virtual Fire Proto-Grove's ritual. It was a tad disjointed, because my cat thought the rune bag (that Loki picked btw) was cat treats.  Then she realized that I had a cup of water and she wanted my water.  When she wasn't in my face, she was zoomie-ing all around me.  Cat chaos.  A lesson from Loki, other than " What? I didn't give you that cat, Freyja did! " was put the cat outside of the room during the ritual.  😆  Two entities came through last night: the Spirit of the Scythe and Manannán mac Lir (whom I call Mac). The Scythe Spirit picked the Elder Futhark runes and Manannán mac Lir picked the Fairy Tale Fortune cards . As I shuffled the runes, I had a vision (and a cat butt) of a deer buck head that quickly decayed and became the Witch King (buck skull head on top of humanoid body).  Then shifted into a feminine form, and I saw the word "Queen".  A Goddess lifted the buck skull from her head,...
