Last night, I performed the omen for Virtual Fire Proto-Grove's ritual. It was a tad disjointed, because my cat thought the rune bag (that Loki picked btw) was cat treats.  Then she realized that I had a cup of water and she wanted my water.  When she wasn't in my face, she was zoomie-ing all around me.  Cat chaos.  A lesson from Loki, other than " What? I didn't give you that cat, Freyja did! " was put the cat outside of the room during the ritual.  😆  Two entities came through last night: the Spirit of the Scythe and Manannán mac Lir (whom I call Mac). The Scythe Spirit picked the Elder Futhark runes and Manannán mac Lir picked the Fairy Tale Fortune cards . Some beginners make the mistake of only using their tools when important matters arise--I am totally guilty of doing this and it burned me out the first time I tried to learn divination. Not all divination questions need to be super serious, nor is divination just for special occasions. In order to get good at most things, you have to practice. Divination tools aren’t just cards and runes , they’re anything that you use for divination, even yourself. Often times I don’t use any tools at all, just me, but if things aren’t clear, the tools are certainly helpful. Sometimes just shuffling cards or runes helps me to connect and get into the right headspace for communication, but I may not actually pull anything during that session.  Do you have a pack of playing cards? Nothing too complex in terms of pictures--basic plain cards. You could even take out the court cards, or go to the Dollar Tree and look in the Education aisle for a set of flashcards that teach shapes and colors. Now, I want you to spend some time with each color. Can you feel its energy with your hands or mind? Does one color feel different than the other? Does it tingle or vibrate? Listen to your intuition. Compare this feeling to another color. Once you feel confident, put your deck together. If there's more than one color, you can cut it down to two colors. With your images face down, draw a card, keeping it facedown. Put your hand over the card and try to sense its color. How does it feel? What image comes to mind? Don't second guess, sometimes your intuition is the first thing that pops in your mind. You've got a 50/50 chance, make your guess! Flip the card! Record your progress if you'd like.
