Here's the ritual from last night: ------ Fall Equinox - Persephone's Descent By Foxlyn Wren September 23, 2026 ADF COoR Style Virtual Fire Proto-Grove, ADF On the Altar: Persephone's Oracle Mask in the back. Rattle, Kuksa offering cup, Oracle statue, Hestia, Persephone Statue, red apple candle, rose quartz, fox, tea cup of water, Melissae figure, Molly Remer's Return , a real white-tailed deer antler.  In the back are offerings, lighter, and divination tools. In the spring, She emerges from the dark Earth as Kore, the Flower Maiden, the newborn fawn dancing in the warm sunlight. A Divine Birth Doula. In the fall, the Dying Doe withers, making Her descent back into dark cool earth–decaying, transitioning into Persephone, the Hellenic Queen of the Underworld, Beloved of Hades, and Caregiver of the Dead. A Divine Death Doula. And in return, Persephone will give us Ad...

Blessed High Day and Back from Our Trip

Rabbit Rabbit! If you do the Cinnamon Money Door thing, here's your reminder! August 1, 2026 - Midsummer Honeysweet! Hail the Melissae! Hail Bee Entities! It's finally August, and I'm feelin great.  Still can't hear the Bees, but that's fine.  Again, the ritual focus this year is going to be on Apollo.  I've got a High Day ritual to host in three days and I'm glad to report that I do have inspiration to write it. We got back from a 6 day family reunion/vacation on Thursday.  The hubs side of the family went to the Smoky Mountains, near Pigeon Forge, TN, to a cabin.  It was lovely.   16 person cabin for our 21 Well worth the money and the heat.  Got to unplug--well, I did, there was a day when everyone was glued to a screen--TV/phone.  We paid all that money and traveled all that way just for yall to stare at screens?  We had a butt load of table top games, a pool, a hiking trail, a hot tub, an awesome screened-in deck with a beauti...

Blessed Midspring/fall and Full Moon! Rabbit Rabbit!

April 26 : With a huge push from Hekate, I got a firepit.  I've been wanting one for years.  It's not a fancy one, just a $50 one, just to see if we like it.  If we do, then we'll budget for a better one.  Before our first burn, I'm going to dedicate it to my Hearth Kindreds, whom are: Hestia Vesta Vestals Hekate Brigid Frigg Freyja Loki Baba Yaga Tomten Nisser Agathos Daimon The Disir Unnamed House Spirits As well as my fire starting and tending tools.  I think I may bless some oil and lightly anoint the bowl of the pit.  Once the wood is burning, then pour some as offering. I was also thinking about carving some sigils into the metal.  I took an intaglio print making class back in college, so I have a a super sharp tool that easily scratches into metals.  The bowl of the firepit is nice, but gives off strong water scrying vibes, too.  No doubt I'll be using it for multiple things, from magik to scrying to cooking.  I have a little gril...

Blessed Equinox!

March 20 :  Spring Equinox - March 20, 2026 The Sun is strong enough to carry itself higher into the sky! Reindeer Mother has calved and shed Her antlers!  She's reunited with Her herd! Now it is time for Rabbit and Serpent to take Their places as Gatekeeper in my ADF Druidry! Also it's the Epopteia, Persephone has returned from the Underworld, walking with Life in every step! Happy First Day of Spring here in the northern hemisphere and Fall in the southern.  I don't know if I have any southern hemi readers, but all the same. I don't have a big ritual planned for today or tomorrow.  On Tuesday or Wednesday, my online grove did a Good Luck ritual round robin, where we used dice, and Loki, Crows, and Raven gave advice about turning bad luck into good luck via practical means. My kids haven't said anything about this High Day...plus today, Midkid's coming back from a 2 day school camping trip.  Normally, I'd be reading equinox stories to them leading up, but I...

Altars and Spirit Work

(My apologies, I feel like I'm making less sense than usual because I have a head cold and have medicine coursing through my veins.) After many pokings and proddings from my Kindred, I finally combined my Healing Altar with our Family Altar to make space for the ADF Altar: Family & Healing Altar Ár nDraíocht Féin Altar The Family & Healing Altar has great energy now--feels like a big hug or someone coming to give you a big warm loving hug. I'm glad to have the ADF Altar up again, too.   Last night I was working on that hearth blanket and suddenly it felt like I was falling or being sucked out of this realm, but I stopped it.  Up until a few years ago, I didn't have control over my ability to astral travel.  Apparently last night, I unintentionally tranced while crocheting, and didn't have control either.  I grounded and regained meself.  Then I heard Mama Hekate in my head telling me to stop and go to bed...and to also meet Her in the Starry Cave....

Sun in Her Antlers

Normally I wait until after the Last Harvest (Thanksgiving) to put up the Yule decorations. But in these darkening times (and I'm not just talking about the seasons), I just needed some light, some hope. Especially for my kids. While selecting the ornaments for the kids to excitedly hang on the tree this year, I picked those that bring us joy and fun memories. Memorial ornaments. Spiritual and magikal ones, too. In my family, the Yule Tree serves as an altar for many kinds of magiks and for honoring our Kindreds, especially our Ancestors. It serves as an altar for great love, joy, protection, community, healing, and other things. Important things needed to combat darkness. Things to feed the spirit...and spirits. Things to strengthen our resolve. Follow the Sun. Trust in Joy. Trust in Community. - Priestess Oracle Kristy "Foxlyn" Tackett © 2024 Hearth Fox Oracle

Happy February!

Happy Midwinter, yall! This evening, with my family, we'll be honoring our family's Hearth and Home Entities, as well as some Winter ones, too. Hestia - Greek Goddess of Hearth and Home. First and the Last. Fire Keeper. Key Bearer. I have been a Daughter since I was at least 8-years-old, and a Hearth Keeper since 2015. Vesta - Roman Goddess of Hearth, Home, and City. The Living Flame. She's been in my life since I was a child, too. Sometimes you may see me hyphenate Their names, because sometimes They appear as one Goddess and sometimes two. I am one of Her Daughters and a Vestal. Hekate - Titaness, Goddess, Key Bearer, Torch Bearer of Land, Sea, and Sky; of Witchcraft and Spirits; and yes, even a Hearth Deity. Kind of like the Celtic Brigid, Hekate governs over many areas. I am one Her Children, as well as a Torch Bearer and Priestess. Frigg - Norse Goddess. Key Bearer. Wife of Odin, mother of Baldur. Practitioner of magik and prophecy; sees much, shares none. Loki - Nor...

Ancestral Shrine

Tis the time of the year when spirits get really active for some people (another super active time might be in May--for some of us it doesn't really stop). It's a great time to set up an Ancestral Altar, if you'd like to. Not everyone needs/wants to venerate their ancestors and that's fine, too. Plus, some ancestors don't deserve to be honored imo (maybe not forgotten--make notes of the shit person they were, so a descendant doesn't end up naming their kid after them). If you'd like to, you can leave it up all year if you want/can, too, or take it out on birth/death days or other special days. Our Ancestral Altar lives in a hutch that I inherited from one of my grandmothers. Inside you'll find photos, notes, letters, trinkets, fossils, maps, family trees, photo albums, money, pendulum, offerings, and prayers for Ancestors of Blood and Spirit, our pets, and strangers/acquaintances who've had an impact on us in one way or another (like David Bowie, Fre...

Plug Into the Moon

After seeing Byron Ballard's warning for the next 48 hours  last night, I grounded myself between earth and universe, Gods and humans--the liminal. I plunged my energy roots deep and wide, so that no storm could knock me down. I connected with my new home and the land and the stars (I can see the stars now!). I went outside and looked up into the bright round moon, perfectly framed by three tree branches. Sister Moon, how long has it been since I've simply gone outside and gazed? Opened myself to your energies? Too long. I charged my shields, my husband's and children's shields, our home, vehicle, and property shields. I turned my attention next to the land and nature spirits. I had already given introductory offerings on Midfall, but tonight was different. It was dark, bitterly cold, and quiet.  I was alone. After standing there for a few minutes, I went back inside to get to my Priestly duties: asking what the Spirit Fam wants for offerings, of course. The Healers wan...

Fall Equinox Ritual & Potluck

This past Saturday, I hosted a public Fall Equinox Ritual & Potluck at a local favorite park.  Family-friendly and free, just like Honeysweet .  It was a lot of fun.  A lot of people showed up in the beginning, but weren't able to stay for the ritual, but I'm really glad that they came.  We hung out and ate some really good GF Cheeseburger Soup.  I also got a much appreciated lesson on how to use a park grill and grill corn on the cob.  They're also a tea maker, so yall know I had to support my fellow local business owner.  Check out Opal Dragon on Facebook ! Once ritual began, I greeted everything and lead them in grounding between earth and universe, using energy from their heart centers. Here I am drumming to cast sacred space.  Nothing fancy, just a simple heartbeat.  As I drummed, those gathered used that heart energy to create the protective sphere of protection, love, and inspiration around us. After inviting our Spirit Guests, I d...
