Aug 27, 2025: I’ve been reading a book called Where the Spirits Ride the Wind: Trance Journeys and Other Ecstatic Experiences by Felicitas D. Goodman. The author and her group explored trance through postures. I’ve been experimenting with ecstatic postures since 2020, I think? I believe during that year, a local group starting having online sessions on Facebook Live—I think they were called the Mud Lotus Project? Although I could have that confused with my favorite Thich Nhat Hanh book No Mud, No Lotus (before 2020 I also had a wordpress called From the Mud—between the similarities and a bad memory, I can’t remember). Anyway, not the point! In that group, a elderly woman would talk about a pose and deity, teach us how to do it, and then start a simple ritual and rattle us into our trances.   Family Shrine September 1, 2024 It's September!  20 or so days until it's officially Fall.  I can feel the transitioning this weekend, as it's been very windy, with dying leaves blowing all over, and today the temps were nice.  A lovely day for a cookout on this Labor Day here in the US.  We have the windows all open, letting in the fresh air, and finally giving the A.C. a break.  Here's hoping the weather only get better from here...and not random swings of hell with a jump to winter temps.  I'd like to be able to enjoy fall weather this year.   Honey Sweet Success Spell By Hearth Foxlynx This is the spell that I taught at Evermoving We Rise 's Full Moon Zoom ritual last night. This is a spell that was taught to me by my ancestors, using rum. Last night's ritual was all about Artemis and the Bee Entities known as The Melissae (may-lease-ah), so instead of using rum I used mead. This is a spell meant for quick success, so it's important that your honey be more liquid than a solid. You want the sweet things to come fast, not slow. Materials: - Honey Drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) - Paper - Writing Utensil - Cup or a shot glass - Small Bowl - Coins 1) First, make a sigil. A sigil is a symbol charged with intention. There are no hard rules about how to make a sigil or what it should look like. I like to make mine using letters, symbols, and runes, but for this spell, I just used letters.
