Practicing Divination Every Day Pt.2

Practice Makes Better In Part 1, I talked a bit about when you get your new tools—cleansing, protecting, storage, and the different beliefs about what may or may not be in your divination tools. And also how beginnings sometimes make the mistake of only practicing when they have important questions or crisis. Today I’m reposting this lesson that I wrote for my psychic students in 2023. Teachers, Mentors, and Pieces of Paper You’ve got your tools cleanse and protected, now its time to start using them. You can take workshops, classes, and/or courses—you can seek out teachers and mentors if you’d like. Just be specific about whether or not you’re seeking human or incorporeal mentors. Back in 2014, I was not specific in who or what my psychic/divination teachers were, and the Other answered. Hekate and Dionysus were my first psychic and divination teachers, followed by Others later. In 2020, thanks to a friend—Serendipity Wyrd—I met Mama Gina LaMonte who was offering an Experiential ...

Tarot Methods

An old tarot lesson from October 24th, 2020. Reverse Card Pull In the morning, you draw a card (or another tool if tarot isn't your thing), and DON'T LOOK AT IT. Fight the urge to flip! Then you go about your day. When your day is finished, write about it in a journal or notebook, then flip the card and see if it correlates to your day. Storytelling As of October, I am taking an Intermediate Tarot class with musician and teacher, Gina LaMonte . In this post I’m going to share some exercises that help me learn tarot through the art of Storytelling. First, we did a Tarot Mad Lib exercise , where we drew one card and LaMonte asked us one thing about the card - noun, verb, adjective, etc. Then she read the story. It was weird, because I had the first card and the story kind of told about my card (I was using the Tarot of the Witches--quickly realizing that the super duper simplified pictures of this deck weren't going to work for today's class. It's my keyword practice...

My Birthday Weekend

My 41st birthday was on Friday, and it was a great weekend. My hubs got me a patio chair and table that I’ve been wanting forever. I love it. After a sushi dinner and some gluten-free cake, I did a Birthday reading for myself, using the Bee Tarot and the Fairy Tale Fortune decks. My guides pretty much said to keep on weaning myself from the internet and screens, and good things will come from it. “Abundance in all areas of my life—wealth and other forms of positive abundance.” It’s going to required work, effort, and discipline, and a push through the fear. The stagnation I’ve been trapped in is coming to an end. Yay! The Fairy Tale Fortune deck told me to have fun on Saturday and buy what I want without guilt. (I get terrible buyer remorse when I buy for me.) The Sun and The Lily. Success and Happiness. We had beautiful weather yesterday. I went to a hippie liberal town here in Ohio called Yellow Springs with my BFF and her mom, as we’ve done once a year since our Wright State U...

Patience, Little One!

Loki's all up in my brain this afternoon, wanting me to draw cards from a deck that I don't use very often (although it's one of my oldest decks), the Robin Wood Tarot. I've used cards from this deck for spells, so it's not exactly a full deck (kind of fitting, though, present company!). But it's want He wants to use.   So Loki, what's your message? 5 of Cups - Look for the positives. Strength Reversed - A fear of loneliness. 6 of Cups Reversed - Delay. Hm, quite different than yesterday...well kind of. It's more like "Hey yesterday's reading is still happening, just not quite as quick your impatient butt would like. Don't fret." Yesterday, I did have one of those down moments of small business when I visited my et y and saw new shop favorites and likes, but still no purchases.   Bittersweet, right? I appreciate the likes, follows, and hearts of course! Thank yall for those! Having purchases would definitely be a cherry on top. Not a fa...

Arm's Length

My little man's napping and doing great after his surgery yesterday, so I figured I'd take this time to ask my Fairy Tale Fortune deck (by Liz Dean), "What's my day look like today?" The Key, The Snake, The Fish. Be willing to take advantage of the coming possibilities, but be wary of charming strangers. This reminds me of a recent journey that I went on with Odin. He pushed me down into a watery hole and shoveled dirt down onto me. I struggled at first, then noticed that He looked up at something and ran off. A dragon landed and searched for a meal, and couldn't find me. After it left, Odin returned and pulled me out. Said that sometimes it seems like the Gods want us to fail--digging our graves--when in fact, they're protecting us. He warned me that on this priestess journey, that certain people will show up for the wrong reasons and to keep those people at arm's length. --- https://www.etsy.com/shop/HearthFoxOracle

My Witch Mother's Savage Daughter

Hekate using that Guardian of the Night tarot again! Let's Goooooo!  Ooooo, take a look at this hand, yall! I know The Moon isn't reversed in the photo,  I didn't pick up on the energy until after I took the photo. Past - The Moon - Reversed - Willful blinding to the truth. Present - Ace of Wands - New adventures. Pay attention to the signs and act on them, like a spider with prey caught in its web. Don't give that prey time to escape. Listen to your intuition and strike! Which is awesome because I've been getting a lot of signs these past two days in the form of a large white moth, a large albino pigeon that refused to move out of my path, a friendly bee (on the full moon I performed a Honey Sweet Success Spells with the Melissae), white and light gray feathers found in odd places, and today I found a clear quartz on my path. Lots of good signs and blessings. I'm open to them. Bring on the good fortune and good luck! Future - The Magician - I am finally unde...
