June 20: I meant to write this post for June 17th—the Prometheia—but I forgot. Which is hilarious if you know anything about the old Greek Titan. The Cunning Prometheus, the Titan of Forethought and Counsel. Son of Iapetus and Clymeme; brother of Atlas, Menotius, and Epimetheus; father of Deucalion ( who has on of three mothers: Clymene, Hesione, or Pronoia ) ( Wikipedia ). In some stories, it was He who created humans from clay. It was also HE who defied Zeus and gave us puny mortals fire and thus civilization. Given that His domain is Forethought, He knew what He was doing in more ways than one. It was worth it—I hope He still feels that way anyway. If you don’t know, Zeus punished Him by chaining Prometheus to a rock and having a eagle eat his regrown liver everyday. In some other stories, Heracules frees Him from this harsh punishment.
