Other Clergy

I'm reading Morgan Daimler's post: Being in Service to the Other and having some thoughts about my own clergy path.  So far I've only read Part 1, but in it she talks about the difference between Serving the Community and Serving the Other.   In January 2022, I was ordained by my Gods to serve Them and the Other.  From there I launched my search for ethical, legit pagan clergy courses and programs, because I wanted to learn how to be an efficient, legal, and ethical pagan clergy member for my communities.  For the most part, I had the sacerdotal stuff done, but I needed more education and training for my human communities. My Gods said that wasn't necessary to serve the Other.  I already had the knowledge, skill, and training to serve Them.  They didn't care about the pastoral work. I was Their Priestess, Their Oracle, Their Seidkona. Yes, but to deliver Their message more effectively, I felt that I needed to learn how to work with people bet...

Allright Mouth

A month into the Pre-Clergy Program and last week, I finally got the motivation to start reading, studying, and doing the writings!  I was hoping to get started right away, but then I got hit with ADHD and a little bit of Imposter Syndrome.  That Imposter is just shadow work to explore.  I explored it.  My Imposter asked what did I have to offer to ADF or to anyone else?  I was a poor speaker and a college drop out, who the hell could I help as a clergy person? Good questions, honestly.   What are my strengths?  What are my weaknesses?  What could be improved? I love writing rituals and I love performing them for my community.  I love teaching folks about the Kindreds as I know and interact with Them, and passing on Their messages.  I also know that my ritual writing needs a lot of work.  I attend others rituals and pay attention and learn.  I've taken writing workshops, ritual writing workshops, and I've read books....

Thinkin Thinkin Thinkin, Cause What Do We Do When We're Sick? We Think

I've had lots of thoughts on my mind this week...well, for a while, but moreso this week, now that I'm finally enrolled in the PCP.  Thoughts concerning the future of Hearth Fox Oracle.  I started this psychic business because I wanted to use my abilities and skills to help people.  I never wanted to become a Big Name Pagan or to be famous.  I did want to have regular income doing something that I love, under my own ethics and not a corporations. I researched, I observed, I studied, I networked.  I challenged myself.  I did psychic fairs, expos, public, group, and private sessions.  I branched out by selling my artwork and handmade divination tools.  I helped people with their spiritual problems and spirit problems.  I've blessed homes, banished nasty entities, taught folks about paganism, witchcraft, and psychicism; and a lot more.  I've literally saved lives, too.   But I'm not great at selling myself.  I don't wan...

The Next Step

I completed ADF's Dedicant Path back in June 2025.  The next step was the Initiates Path, and then finally the Clergy Path--the path that I became a paid member back in July of 2023 for.  The program that I jumped into the DP on my first day for.  The path that helped me pass the DP. After I completed the DP, I began looking into the IP, and I wasn't looking forward to it.  The DP was a struggle because it was basically 101 stuff which is so boring to me (unless it's new--I still have a lot to learn).  I've been an experiential eclectic pagan and witch since I was 8-10 years ago.  Most of the resources out there are 100-101 materials.  Sometimes I'll look forward to a book just to be disappointed because it's all the same 101 stuff, with some slight differences in cultures, languages, and such.  Same old same old, pretty much.  It's boring.  (We need more advanced materials, publishers!!!!) I struggled through the DP because it's introdu...

Hearth Keeper Prayer Beads

Back in 2014, Hestia called me one of Her Hearth Keepers. Basically, my duty was to care for the Hearth—my home, family, and self. A title that I humbly embraced. A few years later, the Vestals began training me to be one of them. Not caring that I wasn’t a virgin and was married with children. I served the Hearth Mothers and cared for my home and family. I also served my community as a Home Cleanser, Astral Nasty Banisher, and a Home Blesser. I had learned over the years, that I was also a Home Healer. We didn’t live in any one place for very long for a little while. While we lived in various places, I was often met by pissed off spirits who also lived in those spaces. As a Spirit Worker and a Hearth Keeper, I worked to soothe those entities, and show them that not all humans are dicks. I also helped the once human spirits, too. I cleansed those homes and helped the spirits understand the residents a little better. I healed and then moved on to the next place. So the Vesta...

A Answer

Last night, I journeyed for advice. I found myself in a dark cave, sitting across from Elen at a dark fire pit, Alum sitting on my crossed legs.  Goddesses around us.  This was the dark place that we worked the strength magik together recently.  But everything was frozen in time.  The goddesses, the light, everything, except for me.  They told me to wait, but this wasn't waiting--this was stuck.  No movement.  No passing time.  Stagnant.  I stood up, Alum asked me what was wrong.  I told him that this wasn't Wait.  This was stuck. The rune Isa. I was stuck, in between decisions.  This was true.  Although it's not like I had to make an immediate decision.  Nothing was on the line.  Just me trying to figure out what direction I should take. A snake woman--who may or may not have been Medusa--slithered around the edge of camp.  Stabbed a bronze heart tipped arrow into my chest from behind. I woke up on ...

A Rethink

Back in early 2022, some of my closest deities initiated me into priesthood to serve them and other entities. After that, I paid $25 or so for ordination from Universal Life Church and got my marriage license from my state. Since early 2022, I've been seeking training programs to earn my clergy ordination. I serve my entities, but I also want to ethically serve my human communities, too. I often go back and forth about removing "Priestess" from my business stuff, because sometimes I feel like a fraud. The Imposter Syndrome is strong, yall. Since being sure that this is what I want to do, I've been doing a lot of independent studies, taking workshops and courses, and learning from other Pagan Clergy, too. Searching for legit schools aimed at Paganism isn't easy.  In a lot of places Paganism still isn't accepted as a real umbrella of religions and spiritual paths.  Chances of finding seminaries that ordain Pagans...I wasn't successful.  And I looked at...

Through the Fear

If you told me when I was struggling through speech class in high school or giving terrible presentations at university that one day I'd regularly be giving presentations in front of people, I'd think you were mad. Writing rituals and performing them for friends and strangers was definitely not in my future in those days. I'd rather be hidden in the crowd! Other than my dyslexia, I was a terrified and anxious mess when it came to public speaking, using microphones, and giving presentations. Absolutely hated it. Yet anxiety always made me have to be the first person up, just to get it out of the way. Now look at me. I don't know how I did it, I just wanted to be involved in my communities, and often times performing rituals are needed, whether you're a part or the lead. Every time it's scary and yes, I mess up whether I'm using a script, notecards, or nothing at all. But I push through the fears and the what ifs, and I learn from every presentation. I study,...
