Bees and Shadows, Light and Darkness

(Originally posted on my Substack .  Also yall don't have to subscribe to my SS, you can simply Follow, too, if you'd like.) Today is actually March 1st as I type this. I’ve got two things on my mind: my mom and bees. The only thing those two have in common is that bees are psychopomps in some cultures—entities that carry the dead to the Spirit World. And my mom is dead. She died on October 14, 2023. We had a complicated relationship. She was an emotionally abusive alcoholic and I wasn’t an enabler. All the family wanted was for her to get sober, and all she wanted was death. When I learned of her death, I felt immense relief and a weight lifted from me. The grief and healing process have been longer—going on before her death, honestly. I just put her memorial photos in an album yesterday. It felt good to put all of that information into a physical book. I sat there, looked and read, and remembered. How I reacted. How the kids reacted. Dealing with family and strangers. Some ...

Red Threaded Wine

About a week ago, I wrote a post that was supposed to be about my relationship with Dionysus and Ariadne, but turned into Myth Gods and Real Gods . When I was a teen I had a handful of deities: Sister Moon, Hestia, Vesta, Artemis, Hephaestus, and Anubis. Over the years, that number would change, especially as I started working more with animal spirits. Then as I went through a phase of dark depression and rejected being an artist—I listened to what asshole students and teachers of Wright State University’s art department, who said that I was mediocre and talentless and had no place in that major. I pushed Hephaestus away, and the others (although Hestia-Vesta and Sister Moon stayed). (My drawing teacher, Penny, brought me back by saying that I had the potential, but I was standing in my way). In 2014, I started working with the Roman Ceres. During one of my full moon rites with Her, Sister Moon, and the Land Spirits, Dionysus showed up. He stayed…and with Him came a flood of...

Blessed Equinox and Dark Moon!

Morning everyone!  Happy Spring (Northern Hemi), Fall (Southern Hemi), and Dark/New Moon!  I've been busy myself, hence why this post is late.  Sunday I had a ritual with the Pagans of Delaware County , which I made Divination Eggs!  Eggs which will be available for free at my booth at the S pring Psychic Fair in Huber Heights, Ohio .   Monday I made stew and carrot cake, while recovering from the ritual. Tuesday we had our egg hunt with the kids, and today we're going to be having cake, opening eggs, and having our family ritual honoring Spring Deities and Spirits, and thanking the Ostara Hare for prosperity, abundance, and fertility in body, mind, and spirit.   I'm clearly no baker, but it's not bad for running out of icing and being half awake!  However, it tastes pretty good. For today's Pick-a-Pile, I'm going to be using a spread by The Sisters Enchanted .  Don't click over there just yet, or you'll ruin the reading.  The point...

Blessed Equinox!

Happy Fall in the Northern and Spring in the Southern Hemispheres, yall!  Inspire by the two seasons, I'm going to use tarot and oracle cards for today's Pick-a-Card.  One deck is claimed by Ariadne and the other by Persephone.   Close your eyes and try some 4 square breathing: Inhale, 2,3,4 Hold,2,3,4 Exhale, 2,3,4 And rest. Repeat this however many times as you need to get grounded. Now think of a question or ask for a message from either of these Goddesses of Life and Death.  Pay attention to any numbers, letters, positions, etc., as this could be your intuition guiding you.  Pick your card(s). Catch the 25% Off Sale happening only on my Etsy before it's done!  That's 25% Off on all Non-Fall Items.  Sale ends on September 30th! All right!  Have you picked your card(s)?  It's fine to be drawn to more than one!  Here are the reveals! Ariadne: Rowan - Protection.   Keep your guard up.  Ariadne is hitting on a part of the ...
