Yesterday I took on the simple task of reshuffling two of my photo albums containing fragile old photos...which took me waaaaay longer than I originally thought.  It took hours and I'm still not finished, because i came across photos that were not in chron order.  I still have more to add, and I know that I'm not done.  I am close, though.   Anyway, when ritual time came around, the Grove was wondering what we should do the night's ritual on.  I was handling photos from high school and getting nostalgic and all that.  I suggested our Inner Children, that's what we went with. We brainstormed deities and spirits for our round robin script and got to it.  As usual, I volunteered for the omen.  Using the Rebel Unicorn deck, Loki came forward.  As the ritual progressed, so did Peacock and Thor in the guise of Marvel Thor.  He picked this form because we were honoring our Inner Children. " I just went through a really rough patch--October through November 12th.  Yes, even us clergy folk experience cycles of good and bad, ebb and flow.  No curses, no divine punishments, no whatever.  Sometimes shit just happens to good people. I tend to read/listen to a lot of really heavy books, be them scholarly books about paganism and ancient history, the occult, or mental health books about trauma and healing.  When I need a break from these topics, I reach for my favorite genres: Middle School, High School, and Young Adult.  I also have two kids in middle school, so having mom-approved chapter books with subjects outside of the school curriculum is important—especially with a billionaire Trump Simp  who’s no business being in charge of Education.  I also know what my kids’ interests are, and that they’re more likely to want to read those, than what’s required.  I’d rather required reading not taint their love of reading (or dumb them down with whitewashing), as can happen.  Yes, they still have to read their homework, but they can also take “brain breaks” with stories they’re actually going to love.  Of course my kids have their own bookshelves that I’m not all that interested in, such...

 In my family, we celebrate the High Days for three days.  Yesterday we saved a Gray Treefrog from a scorching death, we had Bdubs for dinner, and we caught lightning bugs in the evening.  We have more planned this weekend. A Gray Treefrog I didn't know we had Treefrogs in Ohio This little dude was green with yellow on its legs, and kind of reminded me of the throw that I'm working on. I'm also participating in a Make-a-Long in a fiber artist Facebook Group by Devin Hunter and Arin Murphy-Hiscock called  Fiber Spirit .  The MAL is focusing on Manifest, thus whatever we're making has to manifest something.  It started yesterday and ends on August 1st.
