First Fire

First, a belated Blessed World Bee Day and...oh shoot, I can't remember...Mother's Day was one...I think there was another.  Hm.  Well, belated happy days. Wednesday was my kid's last day of school, but it was also very wet.  Last night we had our First Fire and Last Day of the School Year Celebration. I had planned on etching symbols into the metal of the fire pit, but I couldn't find my etching tool.  I think I packed it away with my Valkyrie Shrine.  Instead I went to my magikal cabinet for dried flowers and herbs.  I selected based on energies: Peace Joy Love Healing Protection Psychic Strength Good Abundance Good Health All into my orange coconut bowl.  With my fingers, I stirred and mixed the flowers and herbs together, repeating my intention for the mixture... Offering to the Hearth Kindreds and Spirits To dedicate the Fire Pit To anoint our Family, Home, Vehicle, and lot Tracing with my finger into the mixture, I galdred the runes as the...

Altars and Spirit Work

(My apologies, I feel like I'm making less sense than usual because I have a head cold and have medicine coursing through my veins.) After many pokings and proddings from my Kindred, I finally combined my Healing Altar with our Family Altar to make space for the ADF Altar: Family & Healing Altar Ár nDraíocht Féin Altar The Family & Healing Altar has great energy now--feels like a big hug or someone coming to give you a big warm loving hug. I'm glad to have the ADF Altar up again, too.   Last night I was working on that hearth blanket and suddenly it felt like I was falling or being sucked out of this realm, but I stopped it.  Up until a few years ago, I didn't have control over my ability to astral travel.  Apparently last night, I unintentionally tranced while crocheting, and didn't have control either.  I grounded and regained meself.  Then I heard Mama Hekate in my head telling me to stop and go to bed...and to also meet Her in the Starry Cave....

2025 Reflections

Book of Mirrors...Self Portrait... Lots of changes and goals met this year: I passed the Dedicant's Path I finished my Sacred Wheel series I left all of Meta I tried and left Substack I decided to delete my personal blog of 14 years, Book of Mirrors I made huge changes to Hearth Fox Oracle, and potentially will make even bigger changes for 2026 Fell in love with the movie Sinners After lots of research and talking to people, I fully accept my self diagnoses of Autism (but still plan on making it official) I'm finally not obsessed with political news Adopted a stray cat Got a library card Volunteered to lead 3 rituals for my online grove Listened to my body more than my ADHD and that "too much gene" that always wants to be busy Cut toxic relationships and rekindled old ones, despite the fears When I began to self loath, I looked at myself naked in the mirror and all of that self hate went away.  I thanked my body for attracting my husband and birthing my children, and ...

Psychic Kids and Spirits

This morning I got up to see a subscriber email from Druid and author John Beckett. In his newsletter he talked about Seo Helrune’s post about Tweens And The Unseen Not Your Typical Tween Drama —about spirits and your kids. It definitely resonated. Psychic abilities run in both sides of my family, but are stronger on my mom’s side. I’ve always been able to see and hear entities. When I was little, my “imaginary friends” were spirits who often took animal forms, as well as Ancestors. My first goddess was Sister Moon, but my first encounter with a goddess appearing to me was the Greek Hestia when I was really little, somewhere between 8-10. I used to read children’s art books (I think Disney had a series in the 80’s and early 90’s, maybe older, but I remember Mickey Mouse) and read children’s mythology books—reading about Pagans and their Gods and wishing that they were real or still around. Hestia came to me and said that they were. Eventually, I’d get my first Wiccan book when I was ar...

Holiday Spoons

Howdy Friday the 13th, yall!   I hope the month has been gentle. I'm still here, although not posting as often.  December's are exciting and fun, but also heavy with grief for me.  I've been working on being present for myself and with my family.  Focusing on living our paganism and prepping for the 12 Days of Yule...although technically, Yule is all December for us.  December's are usually full of rituals and activities.   Course last year, after my mom's death in October, I was watching A Christmas Story Christmas 10 or more times a day, everyday for two months.  Spoiler alert , Ralphie's dad dies in the beginning, and Ralphie tries to make Christmas super special, but in the end realizes that you don't need all those traditions and activities to have a great holiday.  Sometimes less is better, especially when you're mourning.  I've been keeping this in mind. Last December was a month of joy and grief.   This Dece...
