Psychic Aftercare

Today was Dayton Pagan Coalition ’s Psychic Fair at Kettering Polen Farm, here in Ohio. Overall, today went really well! I was pleased with the turnout, despite the chilly day, and out of 15 20 minute slots, I had 9 customers. I’m kinda glad that I only had 9, because one of those wiped me! Not completely out, but it was an intense session! It’s not easy holding an angry God back—this deity wasn’t angry with the person, but with their situation and the assholes in it. I regularly practice consensual possession, but for in-person events, I can’t do that, because I’m in a roomful of others, and it ain’t all about me or that entity. So I give entities control over my arms and hands, so They can write, draw, and use the tools. This deity—I’m surprised They didn’t break the pen (which has happened)—tore up my notebook with angry, hard writing. There was one moment when this God was really “pushing” on me with His energy. I was able to calm and ground Him down a few times (T...

Practicing Divination Every Day Pt.2

Practice Makes Better In Part 1, I talked a bit about when you get your new tools—cleansing, protecting, storage, and the different beliefs about what may or may not be in your divination tools. And also how beginnings sometimes make the mistake of only practicing when they have important questions or crisis. Today I’m reposting this lesson that I wrote for my psychic students in 2023. Teachers, Mentors, and Pieces of Paper You’ve got your tools cleanse and protected, now its time to start using them. You can take workshops, classes, and/or courses—you can seek out teachers and mentors if you’d like. Just be specific about whether or not you’re seeking human or incorporeal mentors. Back in 2014, I was not specific in who or what my psychic/divination teachers were, and the Other answered. Hekate and Dionysus were my first psychic and divination teachers, followed by Others later. In 2020, thanks to a friend—Serendipity Wyrd—I met Mama Gina LaMonte who was offering an Experiential ...

A Psychic Cleanse

Overwhelmed by the energy flying around? The fear, hate, rage, and sadness? You've gotta cleanse, ground, shield yourselves, especially if you're psychic.  Here is one way that I reset and protect myself: Take a epsom salt bath/shower . Over the years, I've found epsom salt to be a great psychic cleanser, but I've also used sea salt, regular salt, and salt scrubs. You can put some in a bath and soak, or if you've no bath like me, I put some in a big cup and filled it with hot/warm water. Then I ask for blessings over the water--you don't have to do this. You could charge the water with your own intentions or ask your spirit allies to help. I believe that the object is just an object, until the spirit/energy is activated, however that happens. Once I feel the energies active, I step into my shower. You don't have to do this, but I like to anoint each of my chakras/energy centers with the epsom salt water. Then I pour it over my head, making sure to cover most...

Resources on Trance-Possession, Psychic Abilities, and Mediumship

Hey yall, Hearth Foxlynx here! Tune into Witch Hat Chats this Sunday at 1pm to see me! I'll be talking to Nikki and Saul about trance-possession and witch runes. Be sure to check out past episodes, too. Witch Hat Chats has had a lot of great guest hosts! One of the questions asked is about what someone who may be interested in trance-possession can do. These tips are things that I've practiced over the years. These aren't in any particular order, nor is this the end-all, be-all of lists: Get to know yourself. Know your mind, thoughts, body, energy, and soul. Knowing yourself is important when inviting other entities into your body! Develop your psychic abilities. Try automatic writing or typing. Get well acquainted with grounding and shielding. These skills are 101. Practice until it becomes muscle memory. Establish great before and after psychic care routines, such as regular exercise, yoga, stretching, grounding, energy cleansing techniques, epsom salt baths, making a re...

Ritual Etiquette

If you're attending a ritual/invocation and are told to not leave until it's over, please don't leave, especially in the middle of the invocation. If you're not sure you can stay, or if you're not serious about what's going on, if you're treating it like a science experiment, a joke, or amusement, just don't go. It's rude, draining, and not good for health. This work isn't a game. Dealing with the public, I already had additional wards in place, including keeping the attendees safe from hitchhikers, even if they were to invite an entity into their space for "proof" or "fun". When a couple of people left in the middle of the invocation last night, the snap of energy wasn't that bad for me--not as bad as it could've been. But they didn't have the training or protection that I do. I hope yall grounded when you left. I hope you're not feeling like garbage today. If you are, please ground and drink plenty of water. ...
