On July 16th , I attended an ADF ritual honoring Cernunnos. Rev. Vic guided us into the liminal space to meet with the wild God. This was my experience. A meditation with Cernunnos, during which, my third eye kept tingling. Which is and isn’t unusual for me. Lately’s it’s been tingling during my seiðr studies, which makes sense. But also whenever I watch Sinners and doesn’t make sense. There’s weird spiritual connections going on there that I haven’t figured out yet. Back to the guided meditation. I became my Winged Reindeer self in my backyard, at the fence line. On the other side is my neighbors yard with a little pond that I often visit when I astral travel. As the Winged Reindeer Cow, I just stood them in the dusky evening, smelling the air. My back twitching from the bugs. I stretched my wings and settled them back. The fence disappeared and I walked to the little pond. The fountain was bubbling. Frogs stopped singing as I got to the water’s edge. I could see ...

I was in a forum this morning, and someone said that because they weren’t part of a certain lineage, there was no way a certain deity would contact them. I—who am definitely not part of that lineage—have had experiences with the same deity. So I asked them, “why not?” Who told you that? A controlling human? The Gods are gonna contact who They want, regardless of human rules and wants. No human owns the Gods , that defeats what They are . Otherworldly, supernatural, super powerful beings that many worship, serve, and are devoted to. Yet…a specific group owns them and thus control who They can and can’t contact? What? Makes absolute perfect sense . Are the Gods real or not? Are They individuals? Do They have free-will and agency? Or are They just collectibles for your fragile ego? So Loki chimed in with His wisdom...

 In the ADF Member Discord, there’s a discussion about the best and worst connections that people have with the Kindreds. Kindred’s being the Ancestors, Nature Spirits, and Deities/Shining Ones. Naturally, it got me thinking about my own connections. When I was a little witch, before I knew that witches and Pagans were real, I was surrounded by spirits that I could see. Imaginary friends, the adults call them. But I knew they were real. My Unseen Friends….unseen by those without certain abilities. Certain abilities that most kids tend to outgrow. Mine outgrew just a tad. I had to work to reawaken them as an adult. When I was a kid, I remember human and animal spirits, and other creatures and beings that had no names. Shoot, one of my earliest pleasant memories was being a baby or toddler and looking up from a bed or a pen in the living room, at people who were slightly glowing and see-through. Ancestors.   I recently finished  Ariadne  by Jennifer Saint. It was the Hellenic take of Ariadne’s story (as She is originally a sovereign Minoan Underworld Goddess), although I won’t tell you which ending the author chose in case you want to read it too. I am a fan of modern mythology and retellings. Giving voices to those who had none in most of the old stories. Exposing so-called “heroes” who don’t deserve hero-worship as the dishonorable POS they were. In the Hellenic stories, Ariadne was the Princess of Crete who helped Perseus escape the labyrinth after he killed the Minotaur. She escaped with him and the dbag abandoned her on an island and moved on with his life as a celebrated hero. Now there’s different versions of the story, one of which Perseus attempts to spread in the book. But with the old stories, sometimes Ariadne dies on the island and other times, Dionysus falls in love with her, she becomes his wife, and an immortal. How this all happens…well, different versions....
