The Conduit Spirit Connection

Today is April 1st, 2025 , as I write. I’m actually about to attend an ADF Virtual Proto-Grove ritual honoring Loki on Zoom. I have a cup of peanuts for offerings, since the local crows around here love peanuts. To be fair, Loki wanted mead, but the closest that I have to that right now is honey and water. I wanted to share a gift that I got from my eldest for my 41st birthday a few days ago. It is the statue of Pythia, a Delphic High Priestess and Oracle, holding a laurel branch and a bowl of spring water. I love it. Her eyes look eerily realistic, too. Or perhaps its just me? I’ve been wanting this statue every since I saw her. For in-person readings, I usually have a little altar set up for Hermes, My Ancestors, Fox Guide, and which ever Goddess wants to come along. Usually its Eir, one of Frigg’s Handmaidens and one of Odinn’s Valkyries—A Goddess of Healing. Very appropriate for the oracular work that I do. But honestly, I wanted that Oracle statue to help connect m...

Kindred Connections

In the ADF Member Discord, there’s a discussion about the best and worst connections that people have with the Kindreds. Kindred’s being the Ancestors, Nature Spirits, and Deities/Shining Ones. Naturally, it got me thinking about my own connections. When I was a little witch, before I knew that witches and Pagans were real, I was surrounded by spirits that I could see. Imaginary friends, the adults call them. But I knew they were real. My Unseen Friends….unseen by those without certain abilities. Certain abilities that most kids tend to outgrow. Mine outgrew just a tad. I had to work to reawaken them as an adult. When I was a kid, I remember human and animal spirits, and other creatures and beings that had no names. Shoot, one of my earliest pleasant memories was being a baby or toddler and looking up from a bed or a pen in the living room, at people who were slightly glowing and see-through. Ancestors. I’ve long since confirmed this. (I’ve also seen my little ones rea...

My Oldest Family Object?

On Feb 6, 2025,  Nancy Hendrickson asked folks what their oldest family object  was that they owned was. Mine’s probably skeleton keys that I got from my grandma or a piece from the family funeral wagon that was built by either my great great grandfather or great grandfather. A wagon that was family built and once painted white and blue. It was used to transport our deceased family from home to the graveyard in West Virginia. I believe this wagon was one of my grandma’s greatest treasures and she took very good care of it until she was too old. When I was little, I remember sitting on it on those rare times that she had it out of the garage. It was the grandest thing, I remember. Just bright sunlight shining over my grandma’s green house, bathing the wagon in gold. Later in our lives, she painted it white, blue, and red. Fauver Family Funeral Wagon, 2015 When she was too old to care for it, she pulled it out into her yard and let nature claim it. When her house was fina...

A Different and Modern Form of Ancestral Veneration

I practice Ancestral Veneration all year long. For me, a handful are usually around year round. Around this time and around May, the spirit activity amps up as more spirits come to visit and also seem to have more strength in how they let us know they're around.  This year, I did something a little different to honor my mom...which is weird to say because she and I had a really rocky relationship and she doesn't even have a place on the Ancestral Shrine. At the same time, my mom wasn't a gamer, but was a great designer who was proud of her house. I think she might appreciate this more, me recreating her house in Sims 4.  Instagram Making this house was really important for my grief work, too. Regardless of my relationship with her. Obviously it being Sims 4, nothing is exact, especially those room measurements, nor do I have certain kits and packs. I doubt that I'll move Sims into this house, but it is saved in my Library. I can "visit" and update whenever. Fi...

They may communicate through tools, but not always. The pendulum will be going most of the time, as whoever's present often likes to be included in our c...

Ancestral Shrine

Tis the time of the year when spirits get really active for some people (another super active time might be in May--for some of us it doesn't really stop). It's a great time to set up an Ancestral Altar, if you'd like to. Not everyone needs/wants to venerate their ancestors and that's fine, too. Plus, some ancestors don't deserve to be honored imo (maybe not forgotten--make notes of the shit person they were, so a descendant doesn't end up naming their kid after them). If you'd like to, you can leave it up all year if you want/can, too, or take it out on birth/death days or other special days. Our Ancestral Altar lives in a hutch that I inherited from one of my grandmothers. Inside you'll find photos, notes, letters, trinkets, fossils, maps, family trees, photo albums, money, pendulum, offerings, and prayers for Ancestors of Blood and Spirit, our pets, and strangers/acquaintances who've had an impact on us in one way or another (like David Bowie, Fre...

Healing and Stabilizing

Ain't that a metamorph for a Cycle Breaker's journey with Ancestral/Generational Healing? This is one of my favorite Willow Tree figurines, Beautiful Wishes . Sits on our Ancestral Shrine (calla lilies can be associated with death). Due to moving over the years, she was already missing a couple of calla lilies. Today, I accidently knocked her out of the cabinet and she broke. Pieces violently flew everywhere. She and a single lily landed in the recycling. I nearly cried! Calmed myself, took a look at the damage, and grabbed the Goop.   I fixed her and made her more stable. She will be, once the glue dries, which, like healing, will take some time. Decided to leave off the single lilies, at least for now. Just like what I'm doing with my family. It's kinda of broken and sad. I've taken a look at the damage and reflected and planned. Been workin to heal and stabilize, making it stronger than before.

Ancestral Messages About Imposter Syndrome

The other day I posted about Imposter Syndrome and how I try to handle mine.  Yesterday I came across the Imposter Syndrome Spread by Moon Mama Oracle on Instagram .  Why not give it a go, see what my guides have to say about it?  Also if you have instagram or practice divination, go check out moonmamaoracle, they have a ton of great spreads! For this reading my guides have selected runes, specifically Witch Runes.  Of course they'd pick a harder tool for this spread.  Harder in that cards typically have more information, whereas the runes can be more intuitive.  What a way of challenging the Imposter Wound? 1) My Energy: Crossroads, a rune of decision making.  Over the years, this rune has come to mean Self Discipline. 2) Why do I feel like an Imposter?  " Childhood "  " Past "  " Old self "  Lotus, a rune of the healer and of healing.  " You are untangling.  Messy business of pain and confidence.  Of naysayers and...

Blessed Dark Moon & Deipnon!

Hey yall!  This month has been a difficult month for me, and I'm going to do a reading for myself, using a spread from Hearth Wisdom Store : I'm going to be really busy next week and I may not be able to do any divination.  I'm also going to be putting my Etsy Shop on hiatus until I get settled.  I'll make a post when I reopen my shop and services.  Right now, on this Dark Moon, I need some advice from my Ancestors.  It's been rough.  If you feel drawn, I encourage yall to give this spread a try.   I'm going to be using the Tarot of the Divine by Yoshi Yoshitani, a deck that I've dedicated to the Healer Entities in my life. 1) Which Ancestors are present? While typing this, I heard "Grandmothers". 4 of Wands - Success, Happiness, Family 2) What strengths have I inherited from you?   I heard "Determination."  I see my 3xGrandmother Maw Sallie.  "Magik."  "Sight"  "Healing"  "Protection"  "Li...
