A Walk with the Withering Doe: Brainstorming with Persephone for an upcoming Fall Equinox Ritual.

On September 16, 2025, I’ve volunteered to perform a Fall Equinox ritual for Virtual Fire Proto-Grove, ADF. I’m going to do a ritual that I’ve been doing for several years called Persephone’s Descent—Her return to the Underworld, back to her Beloved Hades. On this ritual, I go/take attendees into Gaia’s Womb—a cave system that leads down to the Underworld. Either we following a stream of blood down or we’re taken by Bee/Melissae into a hive built into the entrance of the cave. From the entrance, we’re guided by Bee to wherever the Withering Persephone is waiting for us. She’s usually sitting by a fire, although there are times when She’s standing and we slowly walk and talk with Her. In the spring, Persephone Ascends to earth as Kore, with flowers and life in every step, usually taking the form of a fawn or a Doe. Sometimes as an anthropomorphic White-Tailed Doe. In the Fall, Kore Descends to the Underworld as the Withering Persephone, with decay and death in every step. Sh...

Happy Equinox, Fall for the Northern Hemisphere and Spring for the Southern Hemisphere!  I just couldn't wait to do my ADF altar up for the new season.   The altar detail, left to right: An oak tree coloring page, container of cornmeal offerings, 9 Pagan Virtue study cards, Dollar Tree pumpkin, lavender cup, kuksa offering cup, and a lil' bottle of silver. Lavender Cup that represent The Well, a block of wood that represents The Tree,  Lil bottle of silver beads.  Garanus (Crane) Ada Spirit , Bee Inkwash Sticker by Vanessa Renee , an acorn a stranger gifted to me last year at the Ren Faire, Hestia ( Windstone Devotion ), a Dollar Tree ceramic pumpkin, an LED tealight to represent The Fire, and an oath ring. In the very front, not in picture is my Maple Wood Elen of the Woods Blade (Elen Blade for short) (hand carved by the Mind Body & Spirit owner's husband) Pumpkin, fox figurine, drinking horn, and my favorite river stone to represent The Mountain. ...

Happy October!

Happy October it's *CINNAMON DAY! If you're not aware, every first day of the month, take a little bit of cinnamon in your hand and stand outside of your open door. Calm and ground yourself and charge that cinnamon...or awaken the power of cinnamon as it is a good money drawing spice. Say, "Money flows into my home. Money flows into our businesses, bank accounts, and wallets." Or something similar. 3,7, or 9 times. Odd numbers are powerful magik, you can also use any number that you associate with money, especially if it makes you happy. And/or visualize positive money flowing--money for rent, bills, food, and fun--through your door. When you're ready, blow the cinnamon in through your doorway. Keep your thoughts present and positive, with I am's, We are's and be careful of negative words, like cant, nevers, and nots. Witchcraft is part energy and psychology. Yes, psychology. Particularly a school of thought called neuroplasticity - reprogramming your brai...

Come On Out and Celebrate with Us This Sunday!

This Sunday, I'm hosting a Fall Equinox ritual and potluck with a local group, Pagans of Delaware County ; it's open to others, too! The goal is community building. Be you in Delaware County, Ohio or not, come on out and meet new people, on Sunday, September 24th, 2-5pm. The location will either be at Delaware State Park OR Andrews House. I will finalize the details on Friday. This ritual is inspired by a children's book called 'The Fox and the Falling Leaves' by Julia Rawlinson. I'm going to hand out wooden leaves and acorns to each person, and talk about the beauty of letting go, but also how release takes time, effort, patience, support, and courage. I'm hoping to have a fire to burn the wooden leaves and for each person to just sit and reflect (depending on our location, of course).   I'll ask that participants keep the acorns blank, as they represent potential and result, and will take time to decorate. It's also about releasing expectations of ...

Fall Equinox Ritual & Potluck

This past Saturday, I hosted a public Fall Equinox Ritual & Potluck at a local favorite park.  Family-friendly and free, just like Honeysweet .  It was a lot of fun.  A lot of people showed up in the beginning, but weren't able to stay for the ritual, but I'm really glad that they came.  We hung out and ate some really good GF Cheeseburger Soup.  I also got a much appreciated lesson on how to use a park grill and grill corn on the cob.  They're also a tea maker, so yall know I had to support my fellow local business owner.  Check out Opal Dragon on Facebook ! Once ritual began, I greeted everything and lead them in grounding between earth and universe, using energy from their heart centers. Here I am drumming to cast sacred space.  Nothing fancy, just a simple heartbeat.  As I drummed, those gathered used that heart energy to create the protective sphere of protection, love, and inspiration around us. After inviting our Spirit Guests, I d...
