Idunn is a Norse Spring Goddess who tends to the apple orchard in Asgard. The Norse Gods need to eat the apples each day to retain their youth. I was inspired to make these runes after I made my Apple Runes in the Fall of 2021. After I kept seeing images of Idunn this early spring, I knew it was time. As I made the pieces, I kept Her in my thoughts. Like my other sets of runes, as I wrote and sealed them, I sang their names and meanings.  Hey yall!  Today we're doing a Pick-a-Tool using the New Beginnings Spread from hearthwitchreadings.tumblr.com.  Oh, well, I can't find their tumblr page, but their old link is on the spread graphic I'm using.   All right, Spirit has picked the the Urban Crow Oracle by MJ Cullinane and the Greek Alphabet Oracle.  A form of cleromancy that I am currently studying.  Cleromancy is divination using lots like runes, stones, dice, tiles, bones, etc.  I've been studying the letters, names, pronunciations, deities associated, the history and rituals surrounding GAO, but I haven't officially begun studying the meanings of each letter.  I'm close though, and I will studying them like I studied the Elder Futhark runes by spending three-ish days on each letter.  It invites that energy into my space which affects my life, makes it more interesting, but it helps me to better connect and understand the symbols.  Let me tell you, the Elder Futhark was a wild ride! But, yes!

A few years ago, I came across the New Vesta Tradition founded by Debra Macleod.  Given that there aren't a whole lot of books about Vesta, or Hestia for that matter, I devoured her two books.  In those books, I believe she marked March 1st as the Flamma Vesta.  I could be wrong, as my memory ain't what it used to be and those books are packed away.  Given that I haven't seen anyone else talk about the Flamma Vesta, other than myself, I think it's a day made up by her--at least the name--which isn't a bad thing.  I often tweak and make up days that best suit my eclectic holy days.   According to the what I have found within Roman Paganism, the month of February is called the Februlia and it is a time of death and purification, a month dedicated to the Death God Februs (my spelling may be wrong).  March 1st was the Roman New Year and, as I believe Macleod stated, was the Flamma Vesta, when Vesta's temples would be cleaned and Her fires renewed.   I was looking fo
