Pick-a-Letter 3/16/22

 Hey yall!  Today we're doing a Pick-a-Tool using the New Beginnings Spread from hearthwitchreadings.tumblr.com.  Oh, well, I can't find their tumblr page, but their old link is on the spread graphic I'm using.  

All right, Spirit has picked the the Urban Crow Oracle by MJ Cullinane and the Greek Alphabet Oracle.  A form of cleromancy that I am currently studying.  Cleromancy is divination using lots like runes, stones, dice, tiles, bones, etc.  I've been studying the letters, names, pronunciations, deities associated, the history and rituals surrounding GAO, but I haven't officially begun studying the meanings of each letter.  I'm close though, and I will studying them like I studied the Elder Futhark runes by spending three-ish days on each letter.  It invites that energy into my space which affects my life, makes it more interesting, but it helps me to better connect and understand the symbols.  Let me tell you, the Elder Futhark was a wild ride!

But, yes!  Spirit has selected the Greek Alphabet Oracle.  I recently made myself a set using wooden tiles, my blood, acrylic paint, and polyurethane to seal and protect.  Once I work with these lots more I plan on making sets of tiles and dice for my shop.  It's going to be while, although Hermes seems to think that I'm ready to do it now.  I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I feel it would be a disservice.  I need to work with these tools before crafting them for others.  Each tool is ritualistically made (without my blood, mind you), and I'd personally feel like a fake if I didn't understand the energy and just sold the product.  How others do it is on them--my way isn't better or worse than theirs.  This is how I do things.  I've bought many tools that the crafter or seller didn't know the energy of or whatever, and they work fine. Like many other crafters, I put a lot of love, care, and energy into my pieces.

The theme is New Beginnings, "a spread designed to help you find focus and peace when big changes lie ahead" (hearthwitchreadings).

Close your eyes and think of spring energies, think of new beginnings, things you're planning, things you're working towards.  Pay attention to any letters, numbers, or positions as this may be your intuition or guides aiding.  Pick what you're drawn to, may be one or more.

Have you picked your letters yet?  For these interpretations, I'm using The Oracles of Apollo by John Opsopaus and consulting Spirit.

  1. New Beginnings - the road ahead - Delta and Tau - Take your time and be patient, rushing could lead to bad decisions.  Take this advice and you will successful.
  2. Balance - what can I do to maintain balance and harmony? - Eta - Stay true to yourself.
  3. Focus - where should I be focusing my attention the most? - Phi - Begin and plant those seeds!
  4. Invention - where must I be particularly ingenious? - Iota - How you are working.  Work hard, yes, but also smart.  If something isn't working, try another method.  You will find a solution, and you will be successful.
  5. Serenity - what can I do in order to not get overwhelmed? - Epsilon - Desire, Passion.  To remember why you're doing this to see what matters most.  Spirit also offers an OR...take a break and do something you're passionate about.  Do something fun.  If the project gets too stressful, take a break, otherwise you may lose your drive.
  6. Hope - what will keep me/how to stay motivated and inspired? - Nu - This is your season, "seize the moment".  Opportunities will help to keep you motivated.
  7. Blessings in Disguise (optionally an oracle card) - Anomaly - This blessing will stand out from the crowd, just like a white crow in a sea of black.
  8. Blessings in Disguise (optionally an oracle card) - Isolation - Remove yourself from certain situations, ground, and center.
