I found a perfectly preserved Damselfly today.  Hopefully it's sunny tomorrow, because I'd like to capture pictures of those iridescent wings.  🥰 Thank you Nature Spirits for this beautiful specimen.

I saw this big interesting and calm fly on my deck, and took its picture. Doing a reverse image search, I learned that it’s called a Tiger Bee Fly. It’s a pollinator, whose larvae feed on Carpenter Bee larvae. I love Carpenter Bees, but nature needs balance. Other critters deserve to eat and survive, too. Cool bug. I love living out in the country, I’ve photographed and learned about so many animals I’ve never seen before. That’s what I do when I see interesting and beautiful critters—I photograph, observe, research, and record. Our photo albums probably have more pictures of these creatures and their scientific information than people. Maybe my descendants will find them beautiful, too? I’m a photographer (used to be professional), so our albums are brimming with lots of different photos. Plenty of people in them, too. In case you don't know, photography is a passion of mine.  I took classes in high school and it was my Major at university.  I've done weddings, family and seniors portraits, pets, wildlife, macro, spiritual, memorial, dancing, sports, boudoir, fantasy, cosplay photography, and basically anything that catches my eye.  I love details and and getting up close and personal with my subjects, and often don't think about the risks to get that shot (most photographers are crazy like that). I've worked in a studio, which wasn't my favorite.  Basically the machines do all the work for you for some cookie cutter ass pictures.  I prefer doing the work myself and creating memorable scenes, especially outside.  Hated studio photography.   I was also part of a small business as the candid photographer.  MV Huhn Photography.  The husband and wife focused on the usual shots, and I was off to the side capturing people in their natural state--some truly b...

  For the last few nights, I've been spending my late evenings with the group of Gray Tree Frogs that feast on the bugs attracted to our porch light. I'm glad that they're photogenic! Such lovely little critters. © 2024 Hearth Fox Oracle
