The Honeysweet Experience With Virtual Fire and Austeja

Last night, I performed my first ritual with Virtual Fire Proto-Grove, ADF: Honeysweet, a ritual that honors Bee and Agricultural entities, as well as the sweetness in our lives.  What a perfect ritual to be my first, since it was my first personal ADF-style ritual that I performed when I joined ADF in July of 2023. For this ritual, a new-to-me Deity named Austeja--a Baltic Bee Goddess--offered to come through to give the omen.  "Coming through" meaning consensual possession.  To what level of that possession I didn't know, but I gave attendees a heads up.  Sometimes it's light, like a channeling, and other times it's full on heavy, like a complete take over. My rituals are unpredictable.  Sometimes the Gods come through and change the entire thing, because Their messages are more important than my plans.  And my rituals are fair game--I am Their Servant, Their Priestess, Their Conduit.  For the rite, instead of doing the Omen before the The Work...

This is what my Wheel of the Year looks like (my Sacred Year actually has more holy days than 8): Midwinter - Feb 1st - https://substack.com/home/post/p-155668258 Spring Equinox / First Day of Spring - March 20-23 - https://substack.com/home/post/p-158712101 Midspring - May 1st -  https://substack.com/home/post/p-162285589 Summer Solstice / First Day of Summer - June 20-23 -  https://hearthfoxoracle.substack.com/p/my-sacred-wheel-summer-solstice Midsummer - August 1st - https://substack.com/home/post/p-167149117 Fall Equinox / First Day of Fall- September 20-23 Midfall - November 1st Winter Solstice / First Day of Winter - Dec 20-23 July 15, 2025: Good almost August, yall. Midsummer is nearly upon us once again! Summer’s…not actually flying by for me, even though it’s been busy with kids and their friends, ADF meetings and magikal studies, watching vampire flicks and writing fanfiction, nursing a broken finger and patiently waiting to hear on about passing the rest of ...

Happy World Bee Day!

It’s one of my favorite  secular days of the year . It’s a day to educate oneself about the world’s pollinators and their importance—I don’t just focus on honey bees, they have another day on August 17th (the others probably have their own days, too). I also celebrate Honey Bees on August 1st. Today is a great day to: Learn about all of the different pollinators in the world—bees, wasps, bats, moths, butterflies, etc. Plant some pollinator friendly plants, preferably plants that are local to your area. Eat some honey foods and beverages, fruits, and edible flowers. A favorite kid friendly beverage my family has is Fairy Milk—the recipe I use is warm milk, cinnamon, and honey. Favorite adult bev is mead. Or we may just have a simple piece of bread with honey on it, or something more elaborate like honey cake. Learn about the history and medicinal properties of honey. Read. There’s a lot of books about pollinators, from childrens to scholarly; scientific and spiritual. Some bo...
