Death Work

I am a Deity oathed Priestess. I have and will continue to take courses and classes to be the best Priestess that I can be. I’ve found pagan programs to further my training to serve the spiritual community, one that I’m currently working towards and another that I am saving for. I’ve done different things on my path, from helping people out of domestic situations to clearing and blessings homes to weddings. Yall I don’t like doing weddings. Sometimes the Gods don’t show up, which I’ve learned means that the marriage isn’t going to work out…but do you tell the couple to not sign the marriage license? Or do you fake it? Ethical questions that I’m not a fan of. I don’t like lying. I thought about doing pre-marriage sit downs with the couple and the Gods, but in the end people will do what they want, which makes you wonder WHY PAY ME TO NOT LISTEN? Then their marriage falls apart. Money and mental health just wasted. I’ve seen it so many times with clients—they pay me and then ...

Burial Rethink

To Be a Tree or Not To Be a Tree? Until I heard about tree burials, I just wanted to have my body tossed in some deep woods to be consumed by the carrion eaters OR since that’s NOT an option, to donate my body to science after this soul has left this meat suit. Then I met my husband and we both decided that we wanted to fertilize a tree. He wants to be a cherry tree and have a sign that says, “EAT ME!” Because of course he does. I’m partial to birches and oaks myself. I don’t know that we’d have tree options, though. Nor do I know how much a tree burial would be. One would think that its more affordable than putting a large hunk of garbage in the ground. But then the “green” alternatives tend to be more expensive than the fancy over-priced caskets. On Midspring, I was sitting outside with my Spirit Stick communing with Nature and enjoying the weather. Doing the 2 Powers Meditation and breathing deep. Lately I’ve been focusing on my seiðr and runework studies and practices. I was thinki...

The Conduit Spirit Connection

Today is April 1st, 2025 , as I write. I’m actually about to attend an ADF Virtual Proto-Grove ritual honoring Loki on Zoom. I have a cup of peanuts for offerings, since the local crows around here love peanuts. To be fair, Loki wanted mead, but the closest that I have to that right now is honey and water. I wanted to share a gift that I got from my eldest for my 41st birthday a few days ago. It is the statue of Pythia, a Delphic High Priestess and Oracle, holding a laurel branch and a bowl of spring water. I love it. Her eyes look eerily realistic, too. Or perhaps its just me? I’ve been wanting this statue every since I saw her. For in-person readings, I usually have a little altar set up for Hermes, My Ancestors, Fox Guide, and which ever Goddess wants to come along. Usually its Eir, one of Frigg’s Handmaidens and one of Odinn’s Valkyries—A Goddess of Healing. Very appropriate for the oracular work that I do. But honestly, I wanted that Oracle statue to help connect m...
