Fluidity: Messages from Loki and Dionysus

This morning I woke up from a dream where I was eating the most delicious salmon that I've ever had in my life.  Of course I looked it up because....huh?  I love me some fish, but that's all I was doing, just indulging in some salmon. According to Dream Moods , it may mean, " To dream that you are eating fish symbolizes your beliefs, spirituality, luck, energy and nourishment. It is food for the soul ".  Since it was specifically Salmon , it could also mean, " To see a salmon in your dream represents determination, strength, and wisdom. You are able to overcome adversity and achieve success. Alternatively, a salmon suggests that you are comfortable with expressing and dealing with your emotions. You are well balanced ". Hm. And this powerful positive message after a powerful omen from Loki and Dionysus last night.  A message given to the Druids of Virtual Fire, but also one that extends beyond that group.   Yesterday before the ritual, I was compelled...

Calming Teachings from Chaotic Beings

I meant to share this earlier this week--this is the omen from Tuesday's ritual--a message that's not just for the attendees, but for anyone who needs it.  Not a big scary serious omen.  The ritual was about new beginnings, as this is a time that many are starting new school year, and others may have new projects--such as one druid's new youtube channel. The deities who showed up were surprising at first.  Loki,  Rán, and   Ægir .  Loki, I know, but Ran and Aegir, I don't know too well, never worked with Them before.  I know of Their domains and some stories--both are Ocean Jotuns, married, who have Nine Wave Daughters (who may or may not be Heimdall's mothers) .  I don't know much about Her husband other than His Hall, but I know Ran is associated with drowning, and collects victims in Her net.  I have met Her once before this ritual. It took me a few moments to connect to the two of Them because I don't already have an existing relat...

Last Night's Ritual and Omen

August 4, 2026 - Honeysweet Altar Last night's ritual and omen went pretty smoothly!  The only issue that I really had was with the omen.  Channeling Apollo, I suddenly couldn't read.  I could read the cards and the keywords, but I couldn't read the card meanings in the book.  It was just letters in groupings--you know, words.  I couldn't read them.   I also struggled with the Five of Jars--which the artwork makes it pretty simple, plus I've been reading tarot for 10 years, and last night I couldn't figure out what it meant.  Ace of Swords, too.  It was bizarre.  After I put the book down--which a quiet Apollo suggested that I grab--then I had a BINGO moment. Apollo said this was going to be a Past Present Future reading. Jumper Card was the Past: The Hermit. Being/feelin alone. Five of Jars - Present - Loss. In the card, the Mourner is focused on what she's lost and can't see what she still has. Ace of Swords - Future - Mental...

Midsummer Honeysweet Ritual

Tonight at 10pm, on zoom , I'm doing my Midsummer Honeysweet Ritual for Virtual Fire Proto-Grove .  We'll be honoring Bees and Apollo.   The working is a Gratitude Jar and starting to fill it with good things that can sustain you through your dark times and/or SAD, as sweet nourishing honey sustains bees through the cold months. For it you'll need: -A jar, a little box, an envelope, or crochet a hive or a hive cell pouch. This will be your Gratitude Hive to store your honeysweets. -Paper -Something to write with -Draw a Hexagon–6 sided shape–a hive cell. Make it large enough to write or draw inside of it. -Start thinking about things that bring you joy, healing, hope, courage, strength, and peace. Things the can nourish and heal you. -If it helps, ask yourselves and/or divination: -What am I grateful for? -What sweetness is in my life? -How can I gather this sweetness? -What does this sweetness offer me? You can write out sentence or even make a sigil, bindrune,...

Midsummer Honeysweet - Brainstorm

As Lynyrd Skynyrd sings in Sweet Home Alabama , "Big wheels keep on turnin / Carry me home to see my kin" which eventually yes, we will be seeing our ancestral kin because that's how time and cycles work.  The Wheel of the Year turns again and we are days away from August 1st - Midsummer and Honeysweet .   I'm both excited and not.  I dunno, every since the 12th the energy's been weird, and I don't know if it means anything yet.  Then again these are interesting times we're living in--an unconstitutional war, ICE killing and kidnapping innocents on the streets, parasitic produce, etc. Here's a post about cleansing and grounding , which I strongly encourage yall to do. I'm also not hearing honey bee spirits or The Melissae, which is odd for me this time of the year.  I did purchase a wasp toy from The Dollar Tree though--on a whim.  Wasps are powerful protectors and cursers.  But minus doing omens for Virtual Fire, things are pretty quiet for...

Earth Song

Last night Evan led a Welsh Ritual and asked me to do the Omen. Another Druid recorded what I said.  Norse Earth Mother—Jörð "Yerth" or "Yourth":  Earthquake, earth cracked open; look inside  “Learn our songs, play our music, and listen”  Drumbeat, earth beat as well as heartbeat  It doesn’t matter if you are good at it, just do it. You don’t have to be a master; the point is to listen.  Mary Magdalene Card—unconditional love and patience Play a simple heartbeat, close your eyes, listen  Practice it, let your mind go and let images come and listen  Card Dana—High Priestess, you have divine knowledge, your inner heartbeat, connecting to the heartbeat of the earth; help others with spiritual teaching—spread the knowledge'  Listen—do what the chorus of voices have said: Learn the songs, play the music, and listen. You can use anything as a drum, it doesn’t have to be fancy; wherever you are comfortable, just do it—it doesn’t have to be a drum, u...

A Word from Forseti

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by another Norse Justice God, Forseti.  He is the son of Baldur and Nanna.  Where Tyr is a Warrior Justice God, Forseti is a Peaceful Justice God. Just before last night's weekly Virtual Fire Proto-Grove ritual, Forseti wanted me to volunteer for the Omen.  When we brainstormed about the focus of the ritual, He said to hang back and see what they come up with.  Since one person was physically moving and another was metamorphically moving, we decided on Opening Doors focus.  One Druid chose Apollo for Inspiration and Prophecy, another chose Mac Lir as the Gatekeeper and the other chose Janus as the being of the occasion.   Liminal threshold deities. Then Forseti came through, saying that opening of doors is fitting for peaceful reconciliation, as opposed to the force of Tyr kicking open a door armed with a sword. Forseti came with messages and blessings.   The first thing that He said over and over ...

Vestalia Ritual and Omen

Happy Vestalia (June 7-15th)!  Hail Vesta and the Vestals! On the 9th, a red fox crossed my path, which was very cool.  Then later that night, I had ritual with my online grove.  Although Tuesday was a bit of a struggle, by then I still hadn't reworked my ritual and I was battling a headache.  We've been having a lot of storms lately, and it's normal for me to have one until the storm arrives. However, my joints haven't been hurting!  For about a month and a half, give or take, I've significantly cut down on my sugar--minus the good sugars found in fruits.  I haven't gone cold turkey because that rarely works for me, I just cut more than half down on what I was eating and drinking.  Boy, have I been losing weight!  I haven't even started swimming regularly yet!  Less weight = less joint pain.  I haven't needed my cane in a couple of weeks.  I've also been eating more fresh raw veggies, too.  Gotta replace that processed ...

Put On Your Favorite Dress and Go Dance and Play in the Rain

Yesterday I took on the simple task of reshuffling two of my photo albums containing fragile old photos...which took me waaaaay longer than I originally thought.  It took hours and I'm still not finished, because i came across photos that were not in chron order.  I still have more to add, and I know that I'm not done.  I am close, though.   Anyway, when ritual time came around, the Grove was wondering what we should do the night's ritual on.  I was handling photos from high school and getting nostalgic and all that.  I suggested our Inner Children, that's what we went with. We brainstormed deities and spirits for our round robin script and got to it.  As usual, I volunteered for the omen.  Using the Rebel Unicorn deck, Loki came forward.  As the ritual progressed, so did Peacock and Thor in the guise of Marvel Thor.  He picked this form because we were honoring our Inner Children. Here's the omen that I did, my cat Jimmy Vent...
