Another One Bites the Dust: HFO is Leaving Substack

I’m a little burned out, so I’m closing my Substack . I’m not making any friends, HFO isn’t growing, I’m not gaining any customers, and even though I have 10 readers, no one opens up my stuff, hearts, or even comments. Not even a little interaction to let me know that there’s actually a person there, and not just a bot. Even with my business cards, hardly anyone visits my websites! What’s the point? Just to have an online presence? Why, if there’s no traffic? No business growth? It’s just a waste of money, paper, and effort. Who am I writing for? Don’t say me, because if that were the case, I could just write in a journal and not bother trying to share anything with anyone. That’s a non-answer parroted by substacks with hundreds and thousands of likes and subscribers—people who don’t need the help. Some who probably paid for their followers. I don’t know if SS is like Meta where bots and scammers do that. Others who’s SS probably thrives off of drama. I’m sure there’s a...

Bees & Clay

(Posted on my Substack .) Originally posted to my Blogpost Book of Mirrors . I attended a monthly trance study with a FB group called Mud Lotus Project. I pulled from  Tarot of the Divine  first, which for me is a deck claimed by Kuan Yin. Again for me, often Kuan Yin and Green Tara are one entity and sometimes separate. Kuan Yin/Green Tara, what is your message? “ Listen .” Judgement  – Improvement The Sun  – Accomplishment, joy, luck, vitality (big pendulum swing on this one). We got into a posture--a posture that Green Tara is often depicted in, and we chanted her mantra 6 times. "OM TARE TUTARE TURE SVAHA" 6 times. Then the host began to rattle, and we all went on a little journey. I was greeted by a Bee Nymph—a honey bee. She stung me, filled me with venom to cleanse. Our Bee Sisters also stung me, purifying me. I opened my arms, accepting their stings. I woke up on a white flower. Shiva picked me up and put me across His shoulders. He dance around a fire,...

Blessed Full Moon & Happy Pi Day!

Crazy energies out there today, eh? After talking to a student of mine, I've also noticed that there's been an increase in spirit activity, too.  I've noticed that spirit activity usually amps up around May 1st and November 1st.  Energies ebb and flow, sometimes those spirit waves rise and fall at other times, too.  Sometimes random, sometimes not.   All March long, I've been seeing and hearing more and more spirits than normal.  They're not spirits that I know.  I think some of them are Nature Spirits, which can be rather nomadic.  I'm not worried about their intentions, because I have layers of protection on my home and a great relationship with my House Spirits and Guardians.  They wouldn't just let anyone into the house.  The Gods might, They like to test me from time to time. A couple of weeks ago, it was late at night, and I have hermit crabs (which are nocturnal and skittish, and ours weren't handled properly by their last owners,...

Bees and Shadows, Light and Darkness

(Originally posted on my Substack .  Also yall don't have to subscribe to my SS, you can simply Follow, too, if you'd like.) Today is actually March 1st as I type this. I’ve got two things on my mind: my mom and bees. The only thing those two have in common is that bees are psychopomps in some cultures—entities that carry the dead to the Spirit World. And my mom is dead. She died on October 14, 2023. We had a complicated relationship. She was an emotionally abusive alcoholic and I wasn’t an enabler. All the family wanted was for her to get sober, and all she wanted was death. When I learned of her death, I felt immense relief and a weight lifted from me. The grief and healing process have been longer—going on before her death, honestly. I just put her memorial photos in an album yesterday. It felt good to put all of that information into a physical book. I sat there, looked and read, and remembered. How I reacted. How the kids reacted. Dealing with family and strangers. Some ...
