Kindred Connections

In the ADF Member Discord, there’s a discussion about the best and worst connections that people have with the Kindreds. Kindred’s being the Ancestors, Nature Spirits, and Deities/Shining Ones. Naturally, it got me thinking about my own connections. When I was a little witch, before I knew that witches and Pagans were real, I was surrounded by spirits that I could see. Imaginary friends, the adults call them. But I knew they were real. My Unseen Friends….unseen by those without certain abilities. Certain abilities that most kids tend to outgrow. Mine outgrew just a tad. I had to work to reawaken them as an adult. When I was a kid, I remember human and animal spirits, and other creatures and beings that had no names. Shoot, one of my earliest pleasant memories was being a baby or toddler and looking up from a bed or a pen in the living room, at people who were slightly glowing and see-through. Ancestors. I’ve long since confirmed this. (I’ve also seen my little ones rea...

PDC Summer Solstice Gathering, PT 1

Yesterday Facebook group, Pagans of Delaware County (Ohio) held a Summer Solstice Meet'n'Greet'n'Ritual.  We talked and laughed, cooked and ate together, learned about the Summer Solstice, and made ribbon rings and wands.  It was a lot of fun and exciting, too!  We even had a mouse guest that my middle son first spotted. When we arrive at the shelter, I greeted the Nature Spirits and asked if it was okay to have ritual there.  They said yes.  Crystal and I cleansed, warded, and blessed the area and the altar.  We ate and laughed.  Offered some free divination and made dancing ribbons of different colors.  After Crystal talked about the solstice, I talk a bit about color magick for folks to think about as their made their rings and wands. I asked first that they think about what certain colors mean to them.  Then I talked about what different colors may mean in different cultures, religions, and traditions.  I went into chakras a little ...

Deck Interview with The Wild Unknown

A client made a trade for a session with me recently, and I'm now in the possession of The Wild Unknown Pocket Tarot by Kim Karns.  I love it.  Cute and easier to shuffle than the original.  I'm not sure if I'm going to make a pouch for this one or not, because I really like the tin it came in. I've been shuffling this deck for a couple of days now.  Time to ask it some questions: 1) What can you help me with?    2 of Swords - Decision Making. 2) What is your personality like?  Are you blunt, gentle?    "Necessary"  "Forgiving"  The Hanged Man.  Okay, so blunt, but not a total asshole.  3) What is your area of focus?  Money, healing, relationships, those sort of things. "Trauma"  "Shadows"  "High Priestess"  "The Star"  "Hope"  "Guidance through the pain."  "Lovers, shadow and light" 7 of Swords - Our shadows are often about what's hidden.  This deck is about uncovering those...
