TW: Suicide My Artemis Shrine from 2015 Today I'm going to talk about my relationship with the Greek Goddess of the Hunt, Artemis .  Daughter of Zeus and Leto, and twin to Apollon.  One who never wanted to be married, and so Zeus actually honored Her request.  She chose to hang with Nymph Handmaidens and hunting hounds, instead of a horny, dramatic husband. I don't think that means She was a virgin in terms of never having sex.  Back in the old days, at some point virgin just ment unwed.  She did have lovers, just no husbands or wives, as far as I'm aware. Like all or perhaps most deities, I believe Her to be pansexual and polyamorous.   Artemis is a protector of the forests, animals, ethical hunters, girls, the moon (although I don't see this one, why not the Earth--everything else about Her is earthy), and is associated with birth.  Once she was born, Artemis helped Leto give birth to Apollon.  She's associated with the good and bad stuff ...

I found a perfectly preserved Damselfly today.  Hopefully it's sunny tomorrow, because I'd like to capture pictures of those iridescent wings.  🥰 Thank you Nature Spirits for this beautiful specimen.

I saw this big interesting and calm fly on my deck, and took its picture. Doing a reverse image search, I learned that it’s called a Tiger Bee Fly. It’s a pollinator, whose larvae feed on Carpenter Bee larvae. I love Carpenter Bees, but nature needs balance. Other critters deserve to eat and survive, too. Cool bug. I love living out in the country, I’ve photographed and learned about so many animals I’ve never seen before. That’s what I do when I see interesting and beautiful critters—I photograph, observe, research, and record. Our photo albums probably have more pictures of these creatures and their scientific information than people. Maybe my descendants will find them beautiful, too? I’m a photographer (used to be professional), so our albums are brimming with lots of different photos. Plenty of people in them, too. Oh, to be a Loki Fly on the wall...or a mint leaf. Sometimes Loki takes the form of a fly for me. I know its Loki because it follows me around and does things that flies don't usually do. Especially when He really wants my attention. Loki COULD just say something to get my attention...but no. Sometimes He'd rather take the form of a fly and drive me nuts until I finally stop swatting and ask if its Them. Once Loki delivers the message, the fly disappears and doesn't bother me...until the next time Loki Fly decides to "bug" me again. © 2024 Hearth Fox Oracle
