Ursadeity: A Message

Aug 27, 2025: I’ve been reading a book called Where the Spirits Ride the Wind: Trance Journeys and Other Ecstatic Experiences by Felicitas D. Goodman. The author and her group explored trance through postures. I’ve been experimenting with ecstatic postures since 2020, I think? I believe during that year, a local group starting having online sessions on Facebook Live—I think they were called the Mud Lotus Project? Although I could have that confused with my favorite Thich Nhat Hanh book No Mud, No Lotus (before 2020 I also had a wordpress called From the Mud—between the similarities and a bad memory, I can’t remember). Anyway, not the point! In that group, a elderly woman would talk about a pose and deity, teach us how to do it, and then start a simple ritual and rattle us into our trances. After reading this book, I wonder if the lady from that group has read it, or perhaps even worked with Goodman? Goodman lived in Columbus, Ohio (the group was also in Columbus). In th...

Me and Prometheus

June 20: I meant to write this post for June 17th—the Prometheia—but I forgot. Which is hilarious if you know anything about the old Greek Titan. The Cunning Prometheus, the Titan of Forethought and Counsel. Son of Iapetus and Clymeme; brother of Atlas, Menotius, and Epimetheus; father of Deucalion ( who has on of three mothers: Clymene, Hesione, or Pronoia ) ( Wikipedia ). In some stories, it was He who created humans from clay. It was also HE who defied Zeus and gave us puny mortals fire and thus civilization. Given that His domain is Forethought, He knew what He was doing in more ways than one. It was worth it—I hope He still feels that way anyway. If you don’t know, Zeus punished Him by chaining Prometheus to a rock and having a eagle eat his regrown liver everyday. In some other stories, Heracules frees Him from this harsh punishment. And so on the Prometheia, we honor Prometheus for His gifts and sacrifice for humanity. Back when I was into polymer clay, I made this ...

The Difference Between Spirits and Gods

A Recent Trance Possession Experience. On Wednesday, April 9th, I attended a weekly ritual with my Grove. It was a Round Robin, where people can volunteer for parts. I felt Spirit pushing me to sign up for Omen. Divination is my favorite part of ritual and if no one else wants to do it, I volunteer (I really do encourage others to volunteer to practice, to get comfortable, and so on). …..But with me, given that I practice trance possession and automatic typing/writing, I never know how the omen’s going to go. Sometimes it’s normal, or as normal as it can be with me. Other times it’s just a channeling—me telling the audience what I’m hearing/seeing. Well, the last couple of times that I’ve done the omen, it’s been partial possession, which isn’t the same as channeling . It’s not. Possession is hardcore and can be dangerous shit. You have to know who the fuck you are—what’s you and what’s someone/thing else, and how to “come back”. It’s not the same as channeling. Stop w...

Practicing Divination Every Day Pt.2

Practice Makes Better In Part 1, I talked a bit about when you get your new tools—cleansing, protecting, storage, and the different beliefs about what may or may not be in your divination tools. And also how beginnings sometimes make the mistake of only practicing when they have important questions or crisis. Today I’m reposting this lesson that I wrote for my psychic students in 2023. Teachers, Mentors, and Pieces of Paper You’ve got your tools cleanse and protected, now its time to start using them. You can take workshops, classes, and/or courses—you can seek out teachers and mentors if you’d like. Just be specific about whether or not you’re seeking human or incorporeal mentors. Back in 2014, I was not specific in who or what my psychic/divination teachers were, and the Other answered. Hekate and Dionysus were my first psychic and divination teachers, followed by Others later. In 2020, thanks to a friend—Serendipity Wyrd—I met Mama Gina LaMonte who was offering an Experiential ...

Practicing Divination Every Day Pt.1

An old post from March 9, 2023. -------------------------------------------------------------- What works for some, doesn’t work for all. Some beginners make the mistake of only using their tools when important matters arise--I am totally guilty of doing this and it burned me out the first time I tried to learn divination. Not all divination questions need to be super serious, nor is divination just for special occasions. In order to get good at most things, you have to practice. Divination tools aren’t just cards and runes , they’re anything that you use for divination, even yourself. Often times I don’t use any tools at all, just me, but if things aren’t clear, the tools are certainly helpful. Sometimes just shuffling cards or runes helps me to connect and get into the right headspace for communication, but I may not actually pull anything during that session. Something that is common when someone is doing a reading with me, is that I almost always have a pendulum going, mean...

Tarot Methods

An old tarot lesson from October 24th, 2020. Reverse Card Pull In the morning, you draw a card (or another tool if tarot isn't your thing), and DON'T LOOK AT IT. Fight the urge to flip! Then you go about your day. When your day is finished, write about it in a journal or notebook, then flip the card and see if it correlates to your day. Storytelling As of October, I am taking an Intermediate Tarot class with musician and teacher, Gina LaMonte . In this post I’m going to share some exercises that help me learn tarot through the art of Storytelling. First, we did a Tarot Mad Lib exercise , where we drew one card and LaMonte asked us one thing about the card - noun, verb, adjective, etc. Then she read the story. It was weird, because I had the first card and the story kind of told about my card (I was using the Tarot of the Witches--quickly realizing that the super duper simplified pictures of this deck weren't going to work for today's class. It's my keyword practice...

Literally Spelled It Out For Me

An Old Journal Entry About My First Known Possessory Experience. July 9, 2020 A couple of years ago, I was having some issues with an aunt, who was making fun of my Dyslexia, saying that it wasn’t a real thing—it was all in my head (of course it’s all in my head, it’s a learning disability). I was on my Wordpress (From the Mud), working on a post, when I zoned out, and came back to a typed out message from Dionysus. It was a message to me, all about how I shouldn't take that crap, no matter how much I loved my aunt, before she was on Facebook. Better to know now...and cut her out of my life, too. (For some reason Wordpress was a favorite platform for Dionysus to do that. I believe it was my first automatic typing experience.) Despite this incredible experience--which had me exploring channeling and trance work in more depth--I was still on the fence. Mrs. Indecisive. I thought He was being too harsh. She was my aunt after all (although shortly before this, I had cut her brother--...
