Fluidity: Messages from Loki and Dionysus

This morning I woke up from a dream where I was eating the most delicious salmon that I've ever had in my life.  Of course I looked it up because....huh?  I love me some fish, but that's all I was doing, just indulging in some salmon. According to Dream Moods , it may mean, " To dream that you are eating fish symbolizes your beliefs, spirituality, luck, energy and nourishment. It is food for the soul ".  Since it was specifically Salmon , it could also mean, " To see a salmon in your dream represents determination, strength, and wisdom. You are able to overcome adversity and achieve success. Alternatively, a salmon suggests that you are comfortable with expressing and dealing with your emotions. You are well balanced ". Hm. And this powerful positive message after a powerful omen from Loki and Dionysus last night.  A message given to the Druids of Virtual Fire, but also one that extends beyond that group.   Yesterday before the ritual, I was compelled...

Divine Reactivity

Today I sat outside in the sun.  For about a month, I've been working on turning my pastey white skin tan...or trying to.  Once the lake water is warm enough to swim, I'm going to be spending a lot of time there, and I'd rather not turn into a lobster.  Anywho, when I do go outside, I greet Sunna, set an intention, set a timer on my phone, and either meditate/trance or read.  Today I chose to read: Edda by Snorri Sturluson.  Not my favorite author, but an important one to read (I'd rather be reading Dr Jackson Crawford's translations of Snorri).  I'm familiar with the stories and mythology, as it would seem that every author who writes about Norse Paganism and Magik has to talk about the mythology.  Can't have one without the other, which is kind of annoying to be honest.  But, hey, makes a book go faster when you're skipping parts that you've read multiple times. As I sat there, soaking up Sunna's rays with the intention of healing and protecti...

Happy International Women's Day to ALL Women!

Today's reading I'll be using the Womanrunes by Brigid's Grove and ROAR oracle by MJ Cullinane.  I'm also feeling Lilith and Hekate present. Lilith and Hekate, what message do you have on this IWD? Lilith through the ROAR Oracle: " Ground and be still.  Learn to listen better instead of only reacting.  Ground and gather facts, not opinions.  Not imagery.  Fact.  Cold, hard, un-coddling facts.  Blunt, Direct.  Be smart, not a raging fool. " I've drawn: Joan Beauchamp Proctor "Follow your instincts and you will find the right path." I feel like this is more of that 'listen less to others--peer pressure to think, act, and do'.  Trust yourself and get the facts before acting.   " Don't jump because those around you are.  Who are these others?  Do you align with them?  Friends?  Strangers?  Do they pay your home bills?  Are you giving them free rent in your head?  Why are you going along with the mob?...

Happy Feb 1st, Whatever You May Call It!

Rabbit Rabbit!   Blessed Full Moon!  Blessed Midwinter/Imbolc!       For both events, I'm going to pull a card from Moonology and Seasons of the Witch: Imbolc! Sister Moon, what's your message? "Stay inside, stay warm.  No reason to go anywhere." I've drawn, New Moon in Taurus - Prosperity lies ahead.  Outside of paychecks and saving on gas or possible wreckage just from staying indoors.  Perhaps a surprise settlement check. The Deer Mother and Winter Hag Cailleach say, through the Imbolc deck:   "Does well to listen." I pulled, Black Bear - "Your existence is the resistance.  All you must do is accept the power awaiting your arrival."  Personal Power.  Combat fear and hate with compassion.  Protect yourself, too. I feel Cailleach hitting on something that I saw on Bluesky--a witch calling for people to not only curse ICE but also their children.  Generational curses, which always annoy me.  It's like those...

A Pumpkin Afterlife

On the 1st, whilst looking for a tarot deck (that was NOT where it was supposed to be), I found a small pouch of Story Cubes that I had intended on turning into a divination set ten years ago.  Elk and Manannan were totally into the idea.  I crocheted a pouch for the set.  Midway through I realized that it should've been an apple pouch instead of a pumpkin.  BUT personally I'd rather go to an Isle of Pumpkins than Apples in the Afterlife.  Definitely not traditional Manannan, but UPG.  Apples aren't even native to North America.  Pumpkins are though! The pouch is big enough for my shuffling hand and for more Story Cubes, hence why it's a little wonky.  I also designed it a little different than most of my pouches, so it sits flat on its butt.  Maybe if I do an apple, I'll make that one a drawstring?  I could also still make this one into a drawstring, too. Given Manannan's "pick whatever tool you want" attitude-- You're already good wit...

Ursadeity: A Message

Aug 27, 2025: I’ve been reading a book called Where the Spirits Ride the Wind: Trance Journeys and Other Ecstatic Experiences by Felicitas D. Goodman. The author and her group explored trance through postures. I’ve been experimenting with ecstatic postures since 2020, I think? I believe during that year, a local group starting having online sessions on Facebook Live—I think they were called the Mud Lotus Project? Although I could have that confused with my favorite Thich Nhat Hanh book No Mud, No Lotus (before 2020 I also had a wordpress called From the Mud—between the similarities and a bad memory, I can’t remember). Anyway, not the point! In that group, a elderly woman would talk about a pose and deity, teach us how to do it, and then start a simple ritual and rattle us into our trances. After reading this book, I wonder if the lady from that group has read it, or perhaps even worked with Goodman? Goodman lived in Columbus, Ohio (the group was also in Columbus). In th...

Me and Prometheus

June 20: I meant to write this post for June 17th—the Prometheia—but I forgot. Which is hilarious if you know anything about the old Greek Titan. The Cunning Prometheus, the Titan of Forethought and Counsel. Son of Iapetus and Clymeme; brother of Atlas, Menotius, and Epimetheus; father of Deucalion ( who has on of three mothers: Clymene, Hesione, or Pronoia ) ( Wikipedia ). In some stories, it was He who created humans from clay. It was also HE who defied Zeus and gave us puny mortals fire and thus civilization. Given that His domain is Forethought, He knew what He was doing in more ways than one. It was worth it—I hope He still feels that way anyway. If you don’t know, Zeus punished Him by chaining Prometheus to a rock and having a eagle eat his regrown liver everyday. In some other stories, Heracules frees Him from this harsh punishment. And so on the Prometheia, we honor Prometheus for His gifts and sacrifice for humanity. Back when I was into polymer clay, I made this ...

The Difference Between Spirits and Gods

A Recent Trance Possession Experience. On Wednesday, April 9th, I attended a weekly ritual with my Grove. It was a Round Robin, where people can volunteer for parts. I felt Spirit pushing me to sign up for Omen. Divination is my favorite part of ritual and if no one else wants to do it, I volunteer (I really do encourage others to volunteer to practice, to get comfortable, and so on). …..But with me, given that I practice trance possession and automatic typing/writing, I never know how the omen’s going to go. Sometimes it’s normal, or as normal as it can be with me. Other times it’s just a channeling—me telling the audience what I’m hearing/seeing. Well, the last couple of times that I’ve done the omen, it’s been partial possession, which isn’t the same as channeling . It’s not. Possession is hardcore and can be dangerous shit. You have to know who the fuck you are—what’s you and what’s someone/thing else, and how to “come back”. It’s not the same as channeling. Stop w...

Practicing Divination Every Day Pt.2

Practice Makes Better In Part 1, I talked a bit about when you get your new tools—cleansing, protecting, storage, and the different beliefs about what may or may not be in your divination tools. And also how beginnings sometimes make the mistake of only practicing when they have important questions or crisis. Today I’m reposting this lesson that I wrote for my psychic students in 2023. Teachers, Mentors, and Pieces of Paper You’ve got your tools cleanse and protected, now its time to start using them. You can take workshops, classes, and/or courses—you can seek out teachers and mentors if you’d like. Just be specific about whether or not you’re seeking human or incorporeal mentors. Back in 2014, I was not specific in who or what my psychic/divination teachers were, and the Other answered. Hekate and Dionysus were my first psychic and divination teachers, followed by Others later. In 2020, thanks to a friend—Serendipity Wyrd—I met Mama Gina LaMonte who was offering an Experiential ...
