A Pumpkin Afterlife

On the 1st, whilst looking for a tarot deck (that was NOT where it was supposed to be), I found a small pouch of Story Cubes that I had intended on turning into a divination set ten years ago.  Elk and Manannan were totally into the idea.  I crocheted a pouch for the set.  Midway through I realized that it should've been an apple pouch instead of a pumpkin.  BUT personally I'd rather go to an Isle of Pumpkins than Apples in the Afterlife.  Definitely not traditional Manannan, but UPG.  Apples aren't even native to North America.  Pumpkins are though!

The pouch is big enough for my shuffling hand and for more Story Cubes, hence why it's a little wonky.  I also designed it a little different than most of my pouches, so it sits flat on its butt.  Maybe if I do an apple, I'll make that one a drawstring?  I could also still make this one into a drawstring, too.

Given Manannan's "pick whatever tool you want" attitude--

You're already good with many of your tools.

--when I do divination with Him (although He does like to use ogham), I figured that the Story Cubes were a good fit--intuition and all that.

Basically, I shuffle the dice in the pouch while asking whomever a question.  When ready, I select however many dice.  THEN I shake the dice, asking the question, and roll.  Then I look at the pictures and see what my intuition says.  Unlike my other tools, Story Cubes have no meanings--it all depends on you, your life experiences, your imagination, your creativity, and your intuition and connections.  I've been practising with them with Manannan and Elk, and so far so good.  I'm really looking forward to trying them out with my grove.

In other news, I'm deleting my Substack tomorrow due to low-to-no interaction and traffic.  Also SS has a feed and mine's become too political--I'm falling into old bad habits again.

Also on the 1st, I also closed my Etsy Shop.  It hasn't been open for majority of this year because I was making changes to my business.  I love crafting, but the market is oversaturated with crocheted goods, you know?  Nor were my divination tools selling like they used to.  Also crafting costs money, whereas psychic work doesn't cost as much.  So this year I dropped the items to focus more on my psychic and priestess work--the whole reason why I started Hearth Fox Oracle--to help my human and spirit communities.  Also to find the joy and inspiration in crafting again.

Also Etsy has some rather questionable ethics...

I'm not closing Hearth Fox Oracle JUST my Substack and my Etsy Shop.  For now, I'm keeping Blogspot, where I'll hopefully be posting weekly--posts and event updates.  I'm still offering online readings, too.  Depending on the political climate of 2026 and beyond, I'd like to focus more on in-person events.

I also want to focus more on my clergy path with ADF and working in the death field.  Now without Substack algorithms and Etsy nonsense, I can do that.  Focus more on local community than trying and struggling to build and online community.

So that's where I'm at with the business stuff right now.

I hope yall's weekend is gentle, kind, and fruitful.

Thanks for all of the support!
