Psychic Fun Time!

Do you have a pack of playing cards? Nothing too complex in terms of pictures--basic plain cards. You could even take out the court cards, or go to the Dollar Tree and look in the Education aisle for a set of flashcards that teach shapes and colors. Now, I want you to spend some time with each color. Can you feel its energy with your hands or mind? Does one color feel different than the other? Does it tingle or vibrate? Listen to your intuition. Compare this feeling to another color. Once you feel confident, put your deck together. If there's more than one color, you can cut it down to two colors. With your images face down, draw a card, keeping it facedown. Put your hand over the card and try to sense its color. How does it feel? What image comes to mind? Don't second guess, sometimes your intuition is the first thing that pops in your mind. You've got a 50/50 chance, make your guess! Flip the card! Record your progress if you'd like. Practice this until you've go...

Who Are You?

I got a new statue for my birthday, which I’ll be talking more about in an April 14th post. It’s an interesting statue—of Pythia. However the spirit that resides in the statue isn’t a Hellenic High Priestess and Oracle, oh no, it’s Norse Seiðkona spirit. I felt her as soon as I pulled the statue out of the box, and confirmed it later. With Vesta’s permission, I switched statues on my desk. Normally Vesta sits on my desk, decked out in pride bracelets, fidget rings, my first crochet chain, a Kuan Yin pendant, a Mother Mary keychain, a locket with my kids’ picture, and little gifts from my kids. Now Vesta’s sitting on the bookshelf next to my side of the bed. And the other is on my desk, staring with her eerie realistic eyes. I’ve felt those eyes looking and watching. Last night, I decided to interview the Seiðkona within. She wanted to use Mimir’s Well: A Norse Heathen Oracle Deck & Study System by Tammy L. Rois. A favorite tool of many of my Kindred, actually—not just the...

Tarot Methods

An old tarot lesson from October 24th, 2020. Reverse Card Pull In the morning, you draw a card (or another tool if tarot isn't your thing), and DON'T LOOK AT IT. Fight the urge to flip! Then you go about your day. When your day is finished, write about it in a journal or notebook, then flip the card and see if it correlates to your day. Storytelling As of October, I am taking an Intermediate Tarot class with musician and teacher, Gina LaMonte . In this post I’m going to share some exercises that help me learn tarot through the art of Storytelling. First, we did a Tarot Mad Lib exercise , where we drew one card and LaMonte asked us one thing about the card - noun, verb, adjective, etc. Then she read the story. It was weird, because I had the first card and the story kind of told about my card (I was using the Tarot of the Witches--quickly realizing that the super duper simplified pictures of this deck weren't going to work for today's class. It's my keyword practice...

New Moon

Here is an old lesson of mine from October 27, 2019. --- The first sliver of light in the sky is the New Moon, or in Hellenic Polytheism, the Noumenia, marking the beginning of a lunar month and new beginnings energy-wise. For some cultures, the new moon was a time for rest or celebration! The Ancient Greeks celebrated Noumenia by honoring their household gods with honey cakes and wine, in hopes that They would bless the home and family for another month. For others, the new moon was a time to celebrate the return of the light (a theme that one sees on the Winter Solstice and in spring as well). The new moon is often a time of purification of home and self. Sometimes if I’m not able to clean on the dark moon, I usually do/or continue to clean on the new moon. Removal of the old month’s or old cycle’s stagnant and unwanted energies to make way for the new cycle’s energies. The new moon is a time of rebirth and renewal. A time for new magiks, or those magiks and rituals that foc...

Literally Spelled It Out For Me

An Old Journal Entry About My First Known Possessory Experience. July 9, 2020 A couple of years ago, I was having some issues with an aunt, who was making fun of my Dyslexia, saying that it wasn’t a real thing—it was all in my head (of course it’s all in my head, it’s a learning disability). I was on my Wordpress (From the Mud), working on a post, when I zoned out, and came back to a typed out message from Dionysus. It was a message to me, all about how I shouldn't take that crap, no matter how much I loved my aunt, before she was on Facebook. Better to know now...and cut her out of my life, too. (For some reason Wordpress was a favorite platform for Dionysus to do that. I believe it was my first automatic typing experience.) Despite this incredible experience--which had me exploring channeling and trance work in more depth--I was still on the fence. Mrs. Indecisive. I thought He was being too harsh. She was my aunt after all (although shortly before this, I had cut her brother--...

My Birthday Weekend

My 41st birthday was on Friday, and it was a great weekend. My hubs got me a patio chair and table that I’ve been wanting forever. I love it. After a sushi dinner and some gluten-free cake, I did a Birthday reading for myself, using the Bee Tarot and the Fairy Tale Fortune decks. My guides pretty much said to keep on weaning myself from the internet and screens, and good things will come from it. “Abundance in all areas of my life—wealth and other forms of positive abundance.” It’s going to required work, effort, and discipline, and a push through the fear. The stagnation I’ve been trapped in is coming to an end. Yay! The Fairy Tale Fortune deck told me to have fun on Saturday and buy what I want without guilt. (I get terrible buyer remorse when I buy for me.) The Sun and The Lily. Success and Happiness. We had beautiful weather yesterday. I went to a hippie liberal town here in Ohio called Yellow Springs with my BFF and her mom, as we’ve done once a year since our Wright State U...

Kindred Connections

In the ADF Member Discord, there’s a discussion about the best and worst connections that people have with the Kindreds. Kindred’s being the Ancestors, Nature Spirits, and Deities/Shining Ones. Naturally, it got me thinking about my own connections. When I was a little witch, before I knew that witches and Pagans were real, I was surrounded by spirits that I could see. Imaginary friends, the adults call them. But I knew they were real. My Unseen Friends….unseen by those without certain abilities. Certain abilities that most kids tend to outgrow. Mine outgrew just a tad. I had to work to reawaken them as an adult. When I was a kid, I remember human and animal spirits, and other creatures and beings that had no names. Shoot, one of my earliest pleasant memories was being a baby or toddler and looking up from a bed or a pen in the living room, at people who were slightly glowing and see-through. Ancestors. I’ve long since confirmed this. (I’ve also seen my little ones rea...

Sitting the in Gray

After my  last post , I decided to follow these waves of change that I’ve been feeling, just going with the flow. I’ve been going back and forth for months about whether or not I wanted to delete a blog that I’ve had for 14 years. A site that was my safe space, where I could go and talk about whatever. A place that I really put a lot of effort, love, and care into. A place that I’ve done a lot of healing and growing. A place that’s helped me come across a lot of cool and interesting people, and learn from those people. A place that I no longer need. After I left Facebook in August last year, and then the rest of Meta in November, closing accounts just got easier. Weights that I didn’t realize I was carrying were lifted. I missed some aspects, but overall I didn’t miss it. The stress, the doom scrolling, the trolls, inconsistent rules and standards, fighting algorithms—I realized just how bad it was for my mental and physical health! One of the best decisions of my life was d...
