In yesterday's post, I talked about Spring Equinox with the family. Because that post was getting long, I decided to save the Community Reading for today. Also I've got some thoughts about Eostre. On Bluesky, I saw a post from someone who said that Ostara wasn't Irish Celtic (specified on my end, because the Celts weren't just in Ireland, there were tribes all over Europe, and they had different deities), and they gave an Irish holy day instead.
They're right (if you're someone who wants to stick to one hearth culture), I'm not sure what language Ostara is (because the Wiccan Wheel of the Year mixes cultures together), but the main spring goddess associated isn't an Irish one, but a Germanic one: Eostre ("Yow-str"). Now there's also some debate about whether or not Eostre is a real goddess, or whether She's ancient or modern. I don't keep up on the arguments because I don't care. Just because something isn't ancient doesn't mean its not real, legit, or powerful. That's another rant/topic for another time.
I haven't experienced Eostre myself, but then there's a lot of entities that I haven't experienced. I do feel a Spring Goddess from that hearth culture, and She remains nameless right now. I also feel and know Kore-Persephone.
My kids know Eostre because of our spring celebrations, symbols, artwork, and children stories. Eostre and the Hare bring the baskets of goodies. They know Her as one of many Spring Goddesses. They also know Kore-Persephone as we've had many spring and fall equinox rituals honoring Her. Although they don't see Kore as the bringer of baskets, but as a bringer of Spring (and Persephone as a bringer of Fall).

Let's get to the Community Message, shall we? I'll be using the Seasons of the Witch: Ostara Oracle by Lorraine Anderson and Juliet Diaz.
And the Deity who'll be using this deck is...hm I don't actually feel any deities, only Nature Spirits. Rabbits.
Appropriate.
Alright. Rabbit, what message do you have for us this season?
"Careful" "with money. Make sure you budget, store some away in savings. Add s bit from checks, gifts, found coins. Think of these cents as seeds. Leave them alone. Let them grow."
"Mothers Day"
- Lamb - Patience, Trust the Process. Communicate with others your needs and wants. Accept and offer support. Trust the seeds.
- Painted Eggs - Creativity, Expression. Take inspiration from your surroundings. Work with what you already have. What brings YOU joy? You need to stop worrying so much about others and just work. Art--whatever art is for you. Just art, do it. You can't make everyone happy, only yourself.
- Wreath Making - Inspiration, call it/them to you. Seek support and inspiration. Live inspiration! Inspiration = Manifestation. Surround yourself with creative energies, people, environment.
- Aries - I love that I drew this card because this Aries' birthday is the 28th. "Trust your instincts," Hare says. Initiation, Fearlessness, Boldness. In the booklet, it says that Aries is the Astrological New Year, and the second card pulled was Astrological New Year. ALSO I recieved a card from an ADF pen pal today who also said, "Happy New Year!" Which I thought was really strange. I don't believe in co-winky-dinks, so holy shit yall. Synchroneities! 3 is a powerful magikal number for me.
Don't analyzy, just take advantage of the energy and do the dang thing! - Astrological New Year - Renewed Energy, Second Chance.
