Starting January 10th until February 3rd, 2025, I'm having a 50% Off Sale on EVERYTHING only on my Etsy shop.
I can't really afford this discount, but due to unfair shitty algorithms, my Followers just don't see my posts, nor my sales. I need my handmade products to move out of my home and into new loving homes, so I can begin making new things.
IF I decide to make new things. Algorithms SUCK. My followers should see my posts, yet not even a handful of people do. I'm busy on these platforms, posting, replying, liking, and commenting on others posts. Trying to make meaningful connections and build a supportive community. What's the point of even having followers or an online presence? This business is everything to me and yet, online just guts ya. I'm tired of paying fees for no one to see my shop. It's draining my wallet, mental health and affecting my self worth. I can't afford to pay these social media platforms or selling platforms their pay-to-win bullshit in order to be seen. My Followers should be seeing my posts regardless. But that's not how it works.
So I don't know, shoot, this might be my last sale. I just can't afford it anymore. That fucking sucks. Fuck the algorithms and greedy platforms.
I want to take a break, but I literally can't afford to miss vending opportunities either. Although the market is just so over saturated that competition is ridiculous at events, too. How to stand out? How to market? How to price? Everyone and their grandmother are selling spiritual items, whether its authentic or a cheap marked-up trending re-sell. They're all trying to sell the same stuff, just re-packaged, and some of them are very successful. I don't know how to compete with that.
I also refuse to compromise my ethics and values for sales and popularity.
I dunno. I'll keep trying for now. What does sell at events are my psychic readings. I'm almost always booked--regardless of yet another over-saturated competitive field--and I'm very grateful for that. I started Hearth Fox Oracle to help my community with my abilities. Then I started selling my crafts to help with income during those slow periods and to attract more people. So it may be time to save the money on buying supplies and stop making stuff for a while, to focus on why I started my business in the first place. To focus on what is successful.
That's what good business does. You experiment, you observe, you keep track, you edit.
My handmade items aren't selling in this over-saturated market. It may be time to switch gears. Regardless of my decision, I'll keep yall informed. I'm just not in a good mental place at the moment, although unlike earlier, I am seeing a growing light at the end of this tunnel, and I'm feeling better about it.
As always, I appreciate the Likes, Follows, Recommendations, and Purchases over the years, and those yet to come.
