Long Time, No Post!

Still around.  I've been adjusting to all of my kids starting school this year, and trying to find a new norm for my day.  I have two events coming up in October where Hearth Fox Oracle will be vending and reading at, so I've been working on building stock and on new products.  I also joined a Druid fellowship called Ar nDraiocht Fein in July, so I've been busy studying and working on essays and such...or I was doing all of that

I hurt my knee in July and again in August, and gradually the pain has been getting worse.  I went to Urgent Care and to an orthopedic doctor, and my insurance says that I need to have a month of physical therapy before I can get an MRI to see what the problem is, or they won't pay for anything.  So although I'm pain that's getting worse everyday I have my appointment and I'm actually kind of looking forward to learn physical therapy techniques.  I'm taking anti-histamines that are working better, OTC pain killers, OTC lidocaine patches, I have a knee sleeve, and a walking cane.

It's been a couple of days and I haven't experienced any excruciating pain...unless of course the meds wear off, but I've been learning how my body reacts and handles the meds, and I've been on top of it.  If it gets worse, I'll call my doctor.  I hope it doesn't because I need insurance to pay for this stuff.

IF this is the new norm for me, I may invest in a nice wooden cane so I don't set off metal detectors.  With my "snake stick" as my middle son calls it, I let my kids pick out stickers and decorate it, so I've got some Bluey, dinosaur, and fox stickers on my walking cane.  I'd like to get some pagan and witchy stickers, too!

I'm also planning on carving some runes and sigils into it.  So if I need a long term walking cane, I may find a pagan carver for runes and spiritual things. I can carve, but I'm still learning how to carve into wood.  Wood is different than metal, linoleum, or rubber.  Making wooden matrix' in my Print Making classes back at Wright State wasn't not my favorite thing, however, I still want to learn how to wood carve.

Now that my pain is manageable, I'm going to get back to work on my products.  Dayton Pagan Pride is coming up on October 7 and then there's the Holistic Expo on October 28th.  I got a lot of work to do!
